Quoted: That's cool in Ohio. We have 100+ days with very high humidity. I'm telling you it's next level hot. Imagine paving every square inch of GA. View Quote Yeah, city heat in Japan is hard to quantify. Temp/humidity is a lot of it. But I think it comes down to every surface around you being reinforced concrete or asphalt - which soaks up all the heat and pumps it back at you as you make your way to and from wherever you are going. It's like how the best pizza ovens are made of brick and/or stone to maintain a heat mass that a plain convection oven cannot replicate. |

I was sick with something last week that put me in the hospital overnight with wheezing and shortness of breath. Picked it up in Marysville (assuming your trip began in Ohio.) It was rough. Don’t mess around if you’re having trouble breathing. Plus, if you go to a Japanese hospital you’ll get to verify if Japanese nurses are as hot as my imagination right now is telling me they are. |

Left my kid in Nagoya and headed back to Tokyo. Reportedly a monsoon there but Tokyo station live cam looks ok. About an hour out so let’s upload a few pics…
I spent a lot of time watching Nagoya station livestream and google street view to see what my kids town would be like. It was awesome to see it in person. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Temp was 96-98 with feels like of 107-110. ![]() I live in FL. It’s humid AF. But you’ve never felt heat like this with all the concrete everywhere. I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago. It was 110. It was nothing compared to Japan. Had to come back to FL just to “cool off”. I’d never go back to Japan during July/Aug. We are thinking March next time round. I really should post up a trip thread from our July trip. I was inspired by the @ToledoXJ and @Beatsoff8daysStraight Japan threads to finally book it and go. Definitely was a top 3 vacation of a lifetime, and I’ve been a lot of places overseas. Oh yeah, and LOL to the guy @Joe_sun who’s going to Tokyo for his first overseas trip. Talk about impending culture shock. There’s easing into overseas travel (ie. Canada or the UK). Then there is slamming it down your throat. That’s Asia ![]() |

I guess it’s finally cooling off and my son made the comment that he’s afraid of Japanese insects. He’s also angry at half size Pringles.

I can’t believe how nice the weather is! It went from stupid hot and more humid than a bathroom to warm with a slight breeze in 24 hours. I’ve really enjoyed not sweating today and yesterday. If memory serves, folks in Japan who own what we would consider medium-sized cars (Accords, etc.) are pretty fucking rich. Taxes, parking, insurance and such are all pricey there. That's why there are so many motorcycles and small cars with weird names like the "Honda Today."

Yeah they are rich or have bad priorities like me. You have to tear them apart and return to stock for inspections every couple years. That is why almost everyone has new cars there |
