I am just curious how many people still have a walmart within a reasonable distance that sells guns...

Poll inbound
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:27:55 PM EST
The two in my area still sell rifles and shotguns.

Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:29:07 PM EST
In AZ, yes!

Whenever I read or hear the word Walmarts, I chuckle for some reason.

The one a mile from my house does. Several in the area don't though. I won't buy from them because of their rules for selling.

Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:32:45 PM EST
Hell yes, and they put in a bigger selection of ammo too
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:33:28 PM EST
mine sells long guns and has started selling reloading supplies lately

Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:35:01 PM EST
The Walmarts around here either sell guns but no beer or sell beer but no guns
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:36:01 PM EST
Closet Wal Mart to me is 90 miles away in UT. They sell long guns, shot guns and ammo of all types.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:39:01 PM EST
I've never seen one, and I think I've been in them all within a 50 mile radius

Many of them don't even sell ammo
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:39:33 PM EST
Not in CA, but they used to. I bought a WalMart Special Ruger 10/22 in '01.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:40:38 PM EST
Sure.

None of the Walmarts in the south Austin area do but the one in San Marcos has some rifles in a case.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:43:36 PM EST
Non in my area have sold guns for 10 years or so

CA made the process the FFL has to follow too complicated and Walmart had problems complying with the law. The Caliban won

No.

If "Walmarts" is being used in the singular form I can agree.

In this case...

Walmart = singular

Walmarts = plural

Check again, the ones in my area are starting to/setting up to sell long guns again.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:47:42 PM EST
All of them here.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:54:16 PM EST
The Walmart off of Slaughter Ln and 35 has guns and ammo. When I travel to Austin for work, one of my offices are in the area and I have been in there several times. However, the nice thing is that about 15 more minutes of driving will get you to a Cabela's.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:56:53 PM EST
Yep , and you can look up what they sell on line.
anything on line can be ordered with 50% down.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 5:58:25 PM EST
I used to live near Dundee MI and cabelas isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Saying it's a better option to go to cabelas is like saying you'd rather buy batteries from a mom and pop gas station convenience store than Walmart. You are going to pay out the ass at one place and get a decent deal at the other.

Alaska checking in with a big yes to having guns sold in wally world.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:01:56 PM EST
Yes. Recently expanded ammo section as well. Waiting to see if we've got one of the stores selected to start selling handguns again.

No and I'm glad they don't. To many people buy too much shit from walmart (myself sometimes included). Yes, my gun shops cost more, and if they are way over line then I get what I want from gunbroker and have it shipped to them where I pay a reasonable fee. That to me is more rewarding than buying it from the gay ass walmare with its douchebag employees.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:02:56 PM EST
No, a couple black powder rifles occasionally but nothing more
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:03:52 PM EST
Alaska Wal-Mart had a 4 page gun sale flyer today. 99501 in the zip code search if you want to check it out.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:03:57 PM EST
All the walmarts around here carry firearms.

Well you are in MI.

The one south of Austin, is actually quite nice as far as firearms and selection goes. Far better then any Bass Pro I have ever been to. Especially when you walk into there collectors display room. Some really nice guns for many many $$$$$
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:07:28 PM EST
Yes. I live within 2 miles of one that does. There are 5 Wal Marts within 10 miles or so of me, and I think all but one of them sells guns (at least 3 do). The one that doesn't still sells ammo.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:08:49 PM EST
They used to. The one in a little hicktown south of me still does. Go figure.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:15:30 PM EST
Saw a Remington AR in the case at ours yesterday.

Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:15:49 PM EST
Yes. Beer, guns, ammo bait, motor oil, etc.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:18:36 PM EST
All of the ones in my county(in FL) sell rifles and shotguns. They've even started to sell Blackhawk holsters at my nearest one.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:18:53 PM EST
We have two in our area.

One sells guns but has a small selection of ammunition. The other does not sell guns but has an impressive ammunition cabinet.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:18:55 PM EST
Not in communist NJ...

But over in the free parts of this country, I hear they do!
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:22:16 PM EST
I'm not still in Michigan, I moved to Iowa in 06. I haven't seen a Walmart with guns since I moved.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:26:06 PM EST
Nope , neither of them
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:26:34 PM EST
4 of the 5 stores within 25 miles of my home sell rifles and shotguns. The one 2 miles away sold handguns also when they first opened up about 10 years ago but dropped them after a couple years. I don't know if handguns are even offered at any store now.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:26:44 PM EST
This is Texas son, of course they sell guns!

We used to have this, but they got rid of them 2-3 years ago. The cases have GPS units and fish finders in them now.

They have a nice collection of mounts in that one. I also think Cabelas has one of the better selections of clothing for the $. I have a Duhnams and Gander Mountain 5 miles so I do not go to walmart unless I need TP..

Minot ND: yes

back in Lebanon PA, near where the folks liev: no
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 6:36:23 PM EST
12 miles to one, they also started selling wire welders and welding supplies.
Link Posted: 10/2/2011 7:20:44 PM EST
There are several Walmarts that I go to that sell firearms.

Impeach Obama for the Good of the Poor.

One about 15 minutes away does. The one five minutes away does not.
