Amazing shooting.
Let's hope a particular someone doesn't shit on this thread, as well. |

knew a old Fudd that claimed that he could put all rounds "hole in hole" at 400 yards with a 41 Magnum

During the Oliver Hazard Perry Match at Nationals this year I put 8 in the 10 ring and 2 in the X ring from 600 yards........so no, I guess not, especially with the pressure of the President's 100 shoot off. Brandon Green is a machine.
On top of his clean during the shoot off, he shot a clean 400-20x over all....... 10 shots standing from 200, 10 shots rapid prone from 300 yards, 10 shots slow prone from 600 yards and then 10 shots slow prone during the shoot off at 600 yards. |

I'm tickled with 1 or 2 in the x-ring. Still using irons, I'm usually around a 94 at 600. Thinking about going to a scope since the eyes are going.
And didn't he also shoot a perfect score for that match, cleaning it at 200 offhand and 300 rapid prone? ETA: In the team match, one of the AMU teams shot a 400-33X at 200 sitting, with one of them shooting a perfect 100-10X. All ten in a 3" circle at 200 yards in 60 seconds. Incredible. |

Last I shot High Power, M1A's were the predominant rifle. AR15's were just starting to show on the line.
I had pretty respectable scores. Invariably had at least 2 9's to screw up my score. My favorite shooting was M1's at 1000 yds. I had an M1 specifically for 1000 yds. Shortened front sight, Douglas premium barrel. Bedded chocolate laminate stock. Loved shooting that rifle. Sold it for a good amount after getting out of High Power. |

I have been trying to do that all season in F Class...So far so unsuccessful.....

I'd love to see pics of your target. View Quote It is not unheard of for folks to shoot a clean score for 10 or 20 shots at 600 yards.....doing it in the P100 is another thing completely. |

Hell, I can shoot .3 MOA groups all day long. One-shot groups, but .3 MOA!
|
|
No fucking way I could come close to that.
That's awesome shooting. |

I wasn't in the P100 shoot off so I don't have a picture like SFC Green. I may have a pic of my score card on my computer at home. I’ve honestly never had the opportunity to shoot targets at that distance but going by my skills at 300 yards nope, not a chance in hell.
|
|
|
Probably not, but damn I would love to try. No where around here to shoot beyond 300 meters
|
|
Also, OP forgot one little nugget of info ... that was all without ANY sighter shots. Your first round expended at each yard line is scored.
|
|
I could as well as my model girlfriend could with both eyes tied behind my back.

High power? Good God no
With my F-T/R rifle and loads? At my home range (in known/practiced) conditions? In calm wind? Possibly. |

I don't like your poll options.
That is some great shooting. I couldn't pick a day and make it happen, but with great wind conditions, lot's of practice and a bit of luck I might get close. It would probably take me years to do it from the required shooting position though (and it would be quite unlikely to happen on match day). |

Nope. I've had 10s and Xs at 600 - but never 10.
I wonder how many of the people here that said they could actually shoot service rifle. |

I have done so in high power matches, but that's (the target in the OP) not a 600 yard high power target.
10 ring is 12" V (X) ring is 6" Black is 7 ring which is 36". Important to know black size if you hold 6 o'clock, so you're shooting 3MOA high to hit center on that target. Even then, shooting 100 sure as hell ain't my average. Shooting M1a, I regularly broke 90 which is nothing to brag about but isn't horrible, imho. edit for clarity |

This. Honestly, with glass I can hit 1MOA consistently. Barrel, breath and hold have a lot to do with it. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Out of the box with a cold barrel?
If I got a few practice rounds, definitely the 10 ring, And I'm talking about a bolt-action, heavy barrel shooting FMJBT from the prone on a calm day. |

I'd eventually get that many in, if I had unlimited time and ammo.

You can get reduced sized targets. Its not the same obviously, but it will give you an idea. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

That looks like a 300yd rapid fire target. 600 yard slow fire has a black, double size 7 ring.
Either the shoot-off shooting was even more awesome or the reporting is screwed up. |
