All I know is that it is from Afganistan.

I have speculations about the units, but they would  just be guesses.

If you're a Christian, Santa Claus comes to your house with a sleigh and reindeer, and leaves toys.

If you're a Muslim, Uncle Sam comes to your house with a Chinook and Delta operators, and leaves shell casings.

I'm sorry the pic was lost on me, I kept focusing on the hurt soldier being helped by his  buddies.

That pilots would be on my Christmas list if I knew who they were.

Is it a hurt soldier?

It looked to me like it was an indigenous personel being welcomed to the Holiday hospitality of Uncle Sam.

Did an insertion on the side of a mountain once in the 'stan where the pilot could only get one side of the Blackhawk to touch ground, "Vertical Limit" style.  Pretty cool stuff.  The soldiers look like regular army.  Is that Chinook black or green?  Can't tell on my screen.

edited for spelling.

All I can say is...Dang.

If we hadn't all seen this pic, none of us would know of the heroism depicted.

Every day, our servicemembers overseas do things that would make most of us shake with fear, and yet we almost never learn of their sacrifice, only when one is killed or wounded.

Its a crying shame, is what it is.
