so guys, i have about 6 lbs of blackfin shark filets that i caught tonight, and was wondering if you guys had any ideas of how to cook it up. im thinking of trying a basic salt and pepper seared in olive oil and butter, another i may do a blackened or lemon pepper seasoning. the thought of doing like a cornmeal shallow fish fry or nuggets has came up. wondering if you guys may have any tips or cooking thoughts. and i do not have a grill where i am, so its stovetop or in the oven.

I've never cooked Blackfin but I've grilled Mako. I simply rubbed some extra virgin olive oil on both sides, salt & pepper to taste, few minutes on each side, and served with an arugula salad with a warm lemon butter sauce.

seared In a skillet and if thick finished in the oven..treat shark like steak and season accordingly..just be sure it's well oiled before searing.

Personally, I prefer to cut it into 1" cubes and deep-fry it.

Blacktip is definitely GTG, as long as you thoroughly clean and ice it down IMMEDIATELY.

A simple flour and spices coating works well.  I like salt, black pepper, and a little cayenne pepper.  The fish has a mild flavor, and you don't want to over-season it.

You're going to need a bigger grill!

Deep fried shark is great, as well as poached in white wine.
