Do you have this disease that I do?

Middle of the day, trying to get work accomplished.....next thing you know I've read dozens of threads and posted on a few of them. How the hell did I get here? I don't really remember making an active decision to do this. It just sorta happened. Oh well, back to work...but let me check my active topics one more time...

Well, NO MORE my fellow addicts.

I've added a line to my hosts file that redirects any ar15.com URL to my company's home page.

If I want to surf now, I have to walk upstairs from my basement home office and and use the "livingroom laptop"

I expect to get much more work done....... or get a good upstairs/downstairs workout.

If anyone wants to know how to set this up, IM me. I'll respond, uh, in a few seconds.

No, I don't.

...but my wife says I do.
I think she's waaayyy off.

...I'm going to go smoke now.

Yeah, sometimes I do. I'll go through the first few pages, maybe post a few, then go through the first few pages again, and again. Then I'll get drawn into some 8 page thread and burn up an hour reading through it all. Ugh.

Sounds like a good tactic to me - cogratulations on your self-discipline.

I've never let ARFCOM distract/deter/interfere with work, but anytime during the day that I'm caught up and have a free minute (or two, or three...) I check in here. The nature of my work is that I'm tied to my desk all day most days & the work comes and goes (no constant flow, backlog, etc.). But when I have something to do, I do it ASAP and get done with it. If my job were different, I probably wouldn't be here nearly as much as I am.

Spending time here to the exclusion of higher priorities has, thankfully, never been a problem for me. Spending money here, on the other hand...

yes I am compulsive...I just cannot stop sometimes. I am sick.

The other sad thing is that I am hitting the EE frequently again looking for the right upper. I have 4 ARs and thought that may be enough, but I guess it isnt.

I am addicted too. 4 hours a day must be too much.

On second thoughts, who cares?

Guilty.

In fact, just yesterday my boss said, "If you want to stay at Quizno's and eat there, you can." I replied, "Why would I want to do that?"

Lucky for me, there are no computers where I work.

For you guys who aren't self-employed, do you feel guilty surfing Arfcom while your boss is paying you for production?
