I would go here to figure this out... http://www.peifla.com/ <--These guys made it. Prolly a fire box.. but the coax (on picture 1)is confusing unless they use the old stuff... (BTW, I'm guessing very much not a repeater... too big)

I've seen a repeater that size at the base of a cellular tower... i was thinking that's what these are.... the jerk who left them here was pocketing stuff from Nextel and another cell company.

Check the web site and ask 'em what these are... They manufactured em (you can see the logo in pic 2) Looks like they do some pro-bono/project stuff.

I think it takes a radio signal and passes it on. For police radios, the repeaters, repeat the signal for complete coverage of a specified area.

In telecommunication networks, a repeater is a device that receives a signal on an electromagnetic or optical transmission medium, amplifies the signal, and then retransmits it along the next leg of the medium. Repeaters overcome the attenuation caused by free-space electromagnetic-field divergence or cable loss. A series of repeaters make possible the extension of a signal over a distance. Hope this helps!
