I own a Bushmaster carbine with ak type muzzle brake, and it by far the best overall weapon to me in all respects.  I also own a pre-ban ak-47, an ar-10, an 20" heavy barreled ar tack driver.  I have shot an M1a, m1 garand, mini-14.  My bushmaster 16" carbine is by far the best overall rifle in all regards.  It is very relialble.  It is quick handling.  Not too heavy.  It has excellent sights that comes up very fast onto target.  I has very low recoil and muzzle flip.

I have a pre-ban under-folder AK that gets the most abuse.  Hell, I never even clean the thing.  I have R.R. M-16 in the M4 configuration, that one is the most fun.  I use the AK more because it's so cheap and so willing to take abuse.

I have a Bushmaster shorty AK,
and have not experienced any
problems to date. I have just
purchased some WOLF brand ammo
and understand that--this brand
has caused some problems with
some rifles in the past. It must
be the steel cases.
Any thoughts on this subject?
I hope that I do not regret the
purchase of Wolf brand ammo.

Ya, the carbine definetly rocks, though I'm starting to enjoy my 20" government profile quite a bit as well. It weighs as much as my 16" H-Bar, but has longer sight radius and is more accurate.
Really, I love them both equally.
As far as that Wolf ammo goes, the only problem I've ever had in my Bushmaster carbine was when using it.

I have never tried wolf brand.  But Black hills ammo seems to work great.  Very reasonable prices also.
