I live in kallifornistan, and my mom lives in florida, she (myself) was thinking about getting a few AR 15's to keep so her son (me) can have one to shoot when on vacation, aslo a legal transfer to me when I move to a less socialist state.

so what are the requirements in FLA. as far as barrel / overall length goes?

can I order one online in her name and have her pick it up from a local FFL?

basically I need an ar15 in the family now! and need some advice on making it happen

help

Florida=automatic knives, SBR, SBS, silencers, the sky is the limit in Florida.  Florida the last glimmer of light on the east coast.  Hell we are one of the only states where switchblades are legal.

Any thing that is legal to own in America is legal in Florida.

Yeah, i was in a gunshop that favored leo's a couple months ago. He had a display of MicroTech Automatic knives, but he put a sign up that said you must have a CCW to purchase. Well one of the leo's told him that, that was no longer true. A year or two ago, a senators son got caught with one, and instead of bringing it to public, he managed to get them legalized and help out his son. The store owner said wow, i didnt know that and threw the sign away. As long as your 18 you can buy one. Although they will sell cheap ones from China to you at 16 from a flea market.

Federal barrel length on a rifle is 16 inches. Some counties and cities have the ability to adopt waiting periods. West palm has a 5 day wait on rifles and handguns unless you havea CCW. Not sure about other places.

ETA: We dont need a concealed weapon permit to carry switch blades or stillettos.

If you had your mom buy the gun, with the purpose of giving it to you would that be a straw purcahse? Or does a straw purchase only matter if the one receiving the gun isnt allowed to legaly purchase one himself?

Careful there guys. You can posses auto knives or OC spray but you cant carry it concealed without a CCW. On a keychain would be cool.
Florida allows out of state permits I think.

Any state that will recognize ours will be recognized by us. The entire South has reciprocity with us, except for South Carolina.  Difference of opinion over DUI's I believe.

Nope.
Possession is fine, carrying concealed is a no-no. I read it in the package I got with my carry permit, there was a list of weapons you cant carry concealed.

Sure, you can make it a GIFT to HER from YOU.  She has to fill out the ATF 4473 in person at a FFL (dealer) while you make the payment.  This is all legal IF she retains posession.  But the burden is on her if you ever get into trouble with it which I know will not happen.

Does she trust you ?  Just kidding, you probably can afford it, living in Kalifornicationstan.

Florida's governor is a Bush Republican. So of course it's going to be a friendly to citizens with their own weapons versus the inferior states.

Awesome, that's why we didn't hear about looting on the scale of 'Nawlins even though multiple hurricanes hit FL last year.

Nope. We was out fixing that problem right quick like.
There was plenty of looting here but no where near the scale of NO. Of course our damage to property and infrastructure was much less.
