All the moonshine I have ever seen has been clear.  Is it  good?  What is the proof?

I had some homemade shine at a BBQ a couple months ago. It had some peaches in the jar. It didn't even taste like alcohol, very smooth. Also had some Apple Pie, had a lot of cinnamon in it.
