this damn thing has been hijacking my home page and generally fouling up my system for months.

i've got:
spyware blaster
spyware doctor
spybot search and destroy
hi jack this
norton 04
bazooka
and start page guard running.

i have removed ms java which is supposedly the way this thing gets in.
i have 2 programs running which are supposed to keep my home page from getting hijacked. they don't.

i scan with the misc programs and they tell me my cpu is clean.
this thing just reinstalls itself, not neccessarily at start up, but in the middle of the day, too.

help!

Cool Web Search?

I had it, I think I got rid of it with HiJackThis and/or CWShredder. Whatever I did, I don't think I have it anymore.

HiJackThis Download Here

CWShredder Download Here

If these don't work, you'll need to remove CWS from your Registry. Do a search on Google, and find a computer website that has the instructions of where to go and what do delete.

"start"
"settings"
"control panel"
'java plug ins"
"cache"

Then click the "clear" tab. That should do it.

Yeah, did it with Lavasoft's AdAware on my uncle's computer. No problem.

If you've tried that and it failed, something else has probably damaged AA. Try manually removing the registry keys and files; there are instructions on it all over the place. Google is your friend.

i use cwshredder.

SEVERAL TIMES A DAY!

my java plug ins gives me a system cannot find the file specified error, so i' guessing i already removed it.

i'll give adaware a shot

I have no icon for "java plug ins"

If you have Java enabled, you should have an icon.
