Just saw it . Cant blame the guy though he's in a very tough situation. It appears thats its every man for himself there.
I agree with what O'Reilly said early on , that if you rely on Government to protect and provide for you in an emergency you wil be dissapointed. |

As the Superintendant of NO's Police Department, he has one of the toughest jobs in the world right now...but he needs to maintain some composure and show some leadership. If his officers and the citizens there see him breaking down, what hope does that give them?

Hopefully the Guard will move into that area with a heavier presence tonight. it only takes one hot head to spark off a major riot with that many people.
On a side note, I'm glad O'Reily is bringing attention to the fact that the LA governor and LA state government are very heavily to blame for this. |

Looks like Geraldo is encouraging a riot, more than trying to prevent one.
As for the NOPD Chief, no doubt it's a tough situation, but the dude was melting down. He wasn't exactly a commanding presence instilling confidence and calm. His job is to lead, not be the loudest voice stammering and screaming for help. Natural reaction given the circumstances, but those that are the best in such positions elevate themselves and their organizations in such times. Of course, it's easy for me to be critical. I'm not in his shoes with the weight of the world coming down upon me and my personnel.

Yeah, I thought so too. I feel for the guy cause he's in a really tough position. However, one needs to remain his composure - especially on national TV. He almost was playing the same blame game as the rest of the "leaders" over there - execting someone else (higher gooberment) to come in and save them. I know thats not really the case because he's kind of on the front lines actually "doing" something. Either way it's a shitty situation. I'm glad I'm not there, and I'm not saying I would be doing any better than him. -K |

Both he and Geraldo Capone would be better placed with, hell I dunno, CNN, Al Jazeera, etc. I had to change the channel. Their blithering, hand-wringing emotionalism is just too much. It's not "news". They're becoming part of the story instead of reporting the story. Or, maybe the producers told them to spice it up with more wailing and gnashing of teeth. Fucking Geraldo.
