Foxy,

How's that thing shooting?  Any word from the moron?

It shoots beautifully!!  Really nice piece.....I love it!  I will never, ever do business with that moron "dealer" again.(the Gun Brokerage, Utica,NY) His total ignorance was a disgrace.....
Found another FFL about 20 miles away & am having another AR shipped to him next week....  He has no problem accepting a firearm from a non-FFL holder.  I called 3 other shops in the area and all said that they "cannot" accept a rifle unless it is shipped from another FFL.......  OMG, they are as ignorant of the laws as the first "dealer" I had all the troubles with......
Thank goodness I finally found someone who knows the law & will accept a shipment from a non-FFL holder....

Found out the Pre-Ban SP1 I got before was made in 1968..... serial number is 10,XXX
It has been re-parkerized to match the M4 upper......

It IS illegal to have an AR-15 in the confines of NYC.  NYC has its own ban on 'assault weapons'.  If you keep it at a friends house in Nassau of Suffolk or Westchester County, youre OK, but in the 5 boroughs, its a no-no.

Of course the chance of anyone even knowing that you have it is slim, but be careful about walking past the window with it or even going in and out of the house with it in a case. If one of you neighbors or someone walking by (some anti-gun liberal who as we speak is at the WTC holding up a sigh to make peace not retaliate) see's you and dials 911, youre in deep sh!t.

I am a cop and even I am not allowed to keep have an AR-15 in the confines of NYC.  I store it at a friends house in Nassau County. Like I said, the chances of anyone finding it is slim, but it CAN happen.  I am not going to risk my job over a 10 minute drive into Nassau......

New York has some pretty stupid laws on guns, I can barely stand it now. I want to move somewhere out west in a more rural setting.

You are misinterpreting the law. Legally possessed means possessed on or prior to 09-13-94 for an excepted SAW under federal and NYS law. Possessed means possessed by a manufacturer, distributor, FFL or person.

The law regulating SAW's and LC feeding devices in NY is clear. If it is legal under federal law it is legal under NYS law UNLESS restricted by local law.

Postban legal AR15's are not SAW's. They are semiautomatic rifles with no other restrictions imposed on them in NY other then the federal restrictions on barrel(16") and overall(26") length unless restricted by local law.
