I'm in the mood for a FPS

not sure if I could stand buying and playing a whole series.  I don't have (read as "want") to have something that will kill a whole mess of time..

anything I bought I'd want to play the demo first anyway.

I did COD (all the WW2 stuff) back when.  I like the game to be more realistic than fantasy (ie: no WOW type stuff). just some cool modern weapon, shoot the tango type stuff.

tnx ;)

played COD4?

the single player mode is pretty damn cool, but it also has a kickass multiplayer.

I've tried the COD4 demo, it was ok. it has potential

HL2...  (that's how I felt and reminded me of why I never made it with the first version.. it makes me nauseous)

on to the next one...

potential...lol
COD4 was like the game of the year man - granted they picked a pretty 'meh' level for the demo - the Russian/Soviet missions are teh best - flying the AC-130, the Chernobyl Sniping, etc.

Yep, the AC-130 mission IS amazing...

My AC-130 mission

The game has really great storytelling and you get really attached to the characters, so much so you show you really do have concerns about them going into harms way...

What was it about HL2 that made you naseous? For me it was the storyline Scary stuff...

motion sickness, for HL2 type games, I can't play for very long for some reason.  other games, like COD4 are no problem.

Thats interesting...I think it had something to do with the framerate or field of vision...

If HL2 gives him issues, then a game in the HL2 engine would probably give him the same problem...

A good thing to tell us is what you're playing on, first. PC? PS3? 360?

Probably not, I was running HL2 on a 1.6 p4 with 256ram, didn't run worth a shit. Loaded up INS, runs 10x smoother.

just started rsv2 on ps3 the other day.  its ok.  have cod4 too and may give it a try.  seems there are some rants herethat ubisoft does not support it all that well.

i'm new to ps3 and the buttons get me killed now and then.  i have a habit of accidentally throwing grenades on my team! adjusting the x&y sensitivity has helped a bit.

I just found a great online only game that you download and play called combat arms. Took me a little time to get all the video drivers going and what not. But it kinda like counterstrike and Crysis in that you earn experience and GP (game money) after a match then you can use that game money to "rent" a weapon or weapon acc. for up to 1 to 90 days. Its free to play and download and has some really cool customization of your gear features. Plays just like counter strike few different game options free for all / team and 4 maps. So far no cheaters found and it only plays online against others very low system requirments and no laggy servers found yet either. ohh yeah its from a called nexon games.
