i noticed in the paper this morning that another great Tulsan has died...
Harry Badgerow (Lt Commander)

in WW2..

he flew with the VT-86 squadron
4.5 years of naval flying..
51 wartime sorties
5- Air Medals

wartime experiences were documented in the movie " Grumman TBM Avenger"

credited with sinking 2 warships with torpedos.
1- Destroyer Oyodo
2- Cruiser Nashi

his own greatest mission...
dropping notes and supplies to survivors of the Bataan Death March that the war was over and to hang on that help was on the way.

after the war he worked his way up to VP of LP gas Marketing for Cities Service Oil and Gas Corp.

there is a special place for guys like this..
balls of stone..

they quit colleges..to sign up, served for YEARS..till the end of the war..
sad to see them go...
