The latest "Misery Index” shows that Americans are more miserable than they’ve been in the past 28 years, economically speaking.

Wait, you mean 1991 wasn't the worse economy in 50 years?

Think of things as though human society is a pendulum and it swings back and forth between good and bad times.

Hang tight it will swing back.

People might be depressed that there are those who can't read the OP but that's not what it's about.

People are financially "miserable", including yours truly. If you want to cheer that up for me, you know what you have to do.

My wife and I are bringing in more income than ever before. Does that make me an asshole for smiling right now?

This is the first year I've really noticed it but I'm miserable when I'm done at the check-out counter at the grocery store.....and poorer. It's got to the point if it ain't on sale or I have a coupon for it then I won't buy it. I think the misery index is real to the working stiff.

It'll be up to a lot of us to rebuild this sucker then, won't it?  I'm game.

I am old enough to remember how bad it was during the final year of the Ford Administration, all of the completely incompetent Carter Administration and the first year of Ronaldus Magnus' Administration.  It took Reagan two years to get the country on the right track again after years of liberal failures.

I HATED the '70s and still do.  We're there again...except for the stagflation...and that is just around the corner.

As long as the by-product of racist voting sits in the Whitehouse, don't expect things to change for the better.
