Breaking: Climate Change leads to massive flooding in California. Could be underwater in 2-3 years. Lake Tahoe experiencing record high water levels. Communities living in fear.

Whoo! Good thing....Texas was jelly that CA was stealing their thunder.
Meh, they will be equally torqued that CA is wetter now. |

It's really bad in California, because 87% of the minority that aren't flaming libs, are farmers. |

the CA drought has been a multi-year event (5 years i think). The article is about the drought ending in N. This. The headline is incorrect in the OP -- the drought is only "over" for the northern portion of the state. The southern portion remains in drought. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The sad thing for the GD "death to America crowd" is that the northern mountains that are the watershed for California have received record rains, more rain than any year since 1922. There are areas with 20 and 30 feet of snow in the snowpack.
Locally I have recorded over 5.25 inches of rain towards a normal average of 7.5 inches and the wettest part of the season is still to come. It could be we're not going to die after all. |

"Waaaaaah, we're in a drought, we need rain.."
"Waaaaaah, we're having landslides, we have too much rain..." There is no pleasing you, is there California? |

The drought covered the entire Southwest including Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and even (God Bless) Texas five years ago - recall that beef prices doubled in 2012/2013?
The drought pulled back from Texas, then New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Nevada and finally California. Climatologist, who I don't trust farther than I can throw their body pieces, claim the drought was a one in a five hundred year one. The drought ending was a good thing because tens of thousands of liberals were fleeing the state daily due to thirst looking for water. |

And the cited source is just plain dumb and doesn't understand. over 1/3 of California's water is stored in snow pack. If it rains and melts the snow too soon, you'll still have a drought come summertime. Too much rain too soon contributes nothing or close to nothing as it runs off. |
|
In other California statistics; 75% of the people account for 3/4 of the state's population.

That's because deserts don't get lots of rain. View Quote "Drought" is defined in relation to the average amount of rain for each specific region, so even deserts are usually not in drought. You're confusing drought with aridity. http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/brochures/climate/DroughtPublic2.pdf |

A disproportionate amount of food is grown in California. People like to bitch about grocery prices, then they want to pretend that California running out of water doesn't effect them. |
