I got this video in an email from a friend today - thought I'd share it. As soon as I saw what happened, I thought of Arfcom :)

I can find out. All I know is that is was an Automag - judging by the fireball, I'm thinking .30 carbine?

If you notice, after the second shot he adjusted his grip. He had flipped the takedown catch and didn't notice... until the front fell off after the next round

The guy that owns it also has a bunch of original film from this movie. I once worked as a graphics artist, and scanned some of it to digital.

Cool stuff :)

I don't think this version of the Automag ever come in .30 Carbine (the one that did was called the Automag III and the name had been purchased from AMT or Harry Sanford after the company folded). That flash is understandable given that the .44 AMP cartridge was originally made by cutting a .30-06 (or .308) case to 1.3", inside reaming to .429 and stuffing with a shitload of powder! The .357 AMP was just necked down from there!! Holyyyyyy shiiiite, that is a LOT of powder for a pistol!

Also I lusted for this gun LONG before (like, in 1980) Dirty Harry ever took notice (go read some original Mack Bolan novels to see why!

I checked - it is a .44AMP. My mistake.
