great flick
best ever? not so much.... i'd probably enjoy watching unnecessary roughness more than rudy.... flame suit on ETA: it's kinda funny seeing actors in an older movie when you clearly recognize them from a popular, newer flick |
|
never seen it but I respect your opinion so I am going to agree
|
|
Maybe not THE greatest but still a very good flick..............

Great Movie ! Saw it on the big screen, when it first came out. Not the greatest, but pretty good. The main theme borrows some elements from " PATTON ", both done from the same composer. Jerry Goldsmith.

alright, question on a tangent, OP....
which movie makes you want to put on pads and hit somethin' more: Rudy or Remember the Titans |

Quoted: Rudy...just saw it after about 17 years and I forgot what a special and motivating movie it really is ...Samwise Gamgee Training motivation clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wur5ljnTCzQ&sns=em Full movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-3IsNIbo_0&sns=em View Quote I couldn't care less about football (college or pro), but Rudy is one of my all-time favorite films. |

It's a good flick. The ending makes me tear up. But I wouldn't call it the best movie ever made.

It's an alright movie. I hear the real Rudy is an asshole. He's not a bad guy. He is dyslexic, though, and a little "off". Motivational speaker ain't he ? |

Cinderella Man is a better movie, better story, and has nothing to do with Notre Dame....so it's even better because of that.

Patton > Rudy
Hell as cheesy as it was, I could probably make a good argument for Titanic being a better movie, even though we knew what would happen in the end...........oh wait, we all knew that part in Rudy too. |
|
Finally! Others who agree with me.
There is no doubt that the real Rudy story is inspiring. It was just a terrible movie (almost as bad as "Field of Dreams")> However, the real Rudy did make a good sport drink (Rudy Revolution IIRC) about 5-10 years ago. Much better than Gatoraid & Power-aid with B vitamins. They sponsored the boat racing circuit I worked for at the time. I used to bring jugs back from the races. Now that concept is everywhere. |

It's an OK football movie with a very good soundtrack.
When it gets down to it, he's just a winey, undersized kid who wants to exist outside of his physical limits.

Uh, eh, meh, it was okay. Overly dramatic. Bull shit. Snooze and wake up for the end and it's okay.

He motivationally spoke at my middle school about 20 years ago (jesus . . . .). As a previous poster said, he seemed a little "off".
