1951. Great movie. A classic. Fun to watch.

Also, possibly an initial source of the beginning of the pussification of American man?

Think about it. Charlie Allnut. A man's man. Captain of his boat, in Arfica. Falls to the every whim and desire of a woman, Rose Sayer. Everything she wants, he aquiesces to. Everything. And all he gets is a kiss or two, until he signs his fate by getting married at the end.

Could this movie have been a start of something terrible?

I guess I'm too old to have thought of the Ru Paul/Wookie connection, Even though I used quotes and gave a date, I.E. 1950 fucking one. and when was Mr. Allnut mentioned in "Starwars?" Mia culpa.

ETA: Who DOES go around thinking of RuPaul? I mean, besides you guys?

I liked that movie, I remember watching that one as a kid (it used to come up on TV fairly regularly back in the 70'80's)

The leeches part horrified me when I was a kid...

Charlie Allnut was Canadian. So your theory holds up.

Canada is still America, as is Mexico and Chile and Bolivia. Get a globe.

Bogart, a legendary boozer up there with Hemingway and Burton.
