I feel your pain. A lot of people here hated it, but i liked it for what it was.

Good!
Link Posted: 1/11/2006 9:05:45 AM EST

I think it ran a full 1st season, with no expectation of a 2nd. I wasn't a fan anyway.

Ehh, take it or leave it.

It died after one season. It had a great idea, great production and really shitty writing and direction.
I wanted to like it, but I was always disappointed.

Never saw a single episode!

mildly entertaining. But at least we've still got "The Shield" and with "24" coming up....
Link Posted: 1/11/2006 9:15:24 AM EST
it was a stupid show.

If they wanted ratings, they should host an unbiased uncensored documentary of a soldiers daily life in 'over there.'

But we all know that won't happen.

I won't miss it, the wife liked it more than I did, just too stupid and cheesy for someone that actually been there and done that.
Link Posted: 1/11/2006 9:17:10 AM EST
Just when it was starting to get "ok."
Link Posted: 1/11/2006 9:17:16 AM EST
sucks that a good idea for a seris has to have shitty direction and even worse writing. Set design was really crappy aswell. I watched a few episodes , couldnt really get into it

It sucked! Good riddance!

Check out "Off to War". Suppose to be what you describe but it's full of anti-war, anti-Bush dribble.

They need a show like that with Army regulars not NG's.

Agreed, like I said, it'd have to be UNBIASED.

It was starting to get good, I was starting to care about the characters, the writing was getting better, and regardless of what the people that watched just one episode say, it was not a full left wing propaganda dumping ground.

Now I'll never know why Double-Wide was called Double-Wide.

I liked the show. I didnt like that GOD DAMN SONG they sang at the end. OMG i HATED HATED HATED IT.

Everyone I know, or have met, who has been over there, only want to go back to help their friends get home. They all seem to agree that the country/region/society are nothing but a shithole.
My mileage may vary from most though.

It's mainly people like us that would be interested in a show like that, and then they wrote it with a slant that was guaranteed to piss us off. Hello?????? Idiots....did they think soccer moms where going to tune in???
Link Posted: 1/12/2006 11:58:41 AM EST
As much as the show was slanted left, I can still think of WORSE shows that continue.

Bad as it was , it was better than alot of the junk tv shows.

There are really only a few good TV shows out there. 24, Grey's Anatomy, Sienfeld, and Jeapordy are really the only shows I watch. I will usually check out what is on the History Channel, Discovery etc but as far as regular programing it really sucks.

I'd prefer that we win the war before we start making tv shows and movies about it.
