THE FIRST LETTER HERE CALLS THE NRA AND GUN OWNERS TERRORISTS AND THEN SAYS THEY ARE WORSE THAN TERRORISTS
"Gun supporters
What does it take for the people and legislators in this country to realize we have a horrific problem with gun violence unequaled in Western democracies? How many more of our loved ones have to die to prove this point? How many of our children?
The massacre that occurred at Virginia Tech, for me, is the last straw. The 2nd Amendment should not give the NRA and gun-on-demand supporters the right to terrorize this country.
Many are now claiming that if the students on that campus had been armed that this would not have happened, as if more guns are the answer. This argument is not only disingenuous but flies in the face of basic common sense.
I am more afraid of these gun-toting ideologues than I am of any terrorist group. And the justification for such liberal gun laws? To fight the government should it cross the line, whatever that means. These people are arguing for the right to violent resistance and violent revolution.
Enough is enough. It is time to push back, and hard.

THIS LETTER WANTS TO HAVE US PAY FOR EVERY VIOLENT ACT SOMEONE ELSE DOES ON A YEARLY BASIS BECAUSE WE ARE GUN OWNERS WHO HAVE NEVER COMMITED A CRIME
"Gun ownership
As a graduate of Virginia Tech and former resident of Blacksburg, Va., I share the misery from these wanton killings.
Having lived in Virginia for 17 years (including military service), small-game hunting in the mountains was enjoyable and unobjectionable. But after bringing my young family to the Chicago suburbs, it behooved me to give up my rifle.
Too often our society is paying the price for untempered possession of handguns, especially semi-automatics. This is not a 2nd Amendment issue about rights to gun ownership. It is about the failure of Congress to provide for the public’s general welfare, as Section 8 of the Constitution of the United States mandates: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States."
With the public having to bear societal costs from gun ownership, it would seem obligatory for appropriate levels of local, state and federal government to levy compensatory taxes and surcharges.
Money collected ought to reimburse costs of medical care, liability, incapacity, rehabilitation, victims, families, courts, property damage, law enforcement, prisons, restitution, business loss, emergency response and other public burdens related to gun ownership in the United States.
Just as it is with income taxes: Those who don’t file or pay are subject to being charged and judged, possibly resulting in lawful penalty for failing to comply.
The 2nd Amendment is just fine as it is: the right to bear arms. But how many tragedies will it take before Congress exercises its constitutional powers to provide for the general welfare of all the people?

THIS LETTER THINKS WE SHOULD COMPLETELY GET RID OF THE 2ND AMENDMENT
"Repeal amendment
After experiencing the deadliest on-campus shootings ever, reasonable people must wonder whether the people’s unquestioned right to keep and bear arms should now be substantially infringed. The time has arrived to consider repeal of the 2nd Amendment.
