My friend told me the other day a Japanese General, when asked why they didnt invade the US in WWII said "because there would have been a rifleman behind every blade of grass"

Is this true - can anyone give me a link?

It was Yamato, speaking to the emperor
I dont think the quote was that but it was to a simular effect.

It is said that Yamamoto advised Emporer Hirohito against invading the U.S. mianland because there would be a "rifle behind every blade of grass." It is almost impossible to verify the accuracy of the quote; a Google search will only point you to the countless pro-RKBA sites that have quoted it.

They should have waited a few decades to invade.

If the Chinese invade do you think there would be "a rifleman behind every blade of grass"?

Smoking grass, more like it...

How in the hell can you invade a country where there are over 80 million gun owners?

But the invasion goes on even now from our southern border.

"Just goes to show you ... You never have a mine field when you need one". - a quote by me.

Interstingly enough, CA would probably be where they make landfall. But thats not part of the US anyways, and even if it was, its going to break off and float towards Japan anyways. This guy looks Japanese

It was on the history channel. They usually recycle the shows, it's only a matter of time until it comes back on again.

I spent several almost an entire evening searching the internet for a solid confirmation of this quote – never found it...

No way an invasion would have succeeded. The mountains would have stopped them. A sucessful invasion would have to come from Canada, Mexico or the east coast.

DAMN MAN! Go buy it, its only $10 at Wal-Mart and you will have a great movie.

I always watch it when I clean my guns.

I also like the fact it takes place in Colorado and they talk about places around where I live.

(It was really filmed in Arizona for the most part and some in CO)

Its the fact that its $10, thats like 4 mags of 7.62x39

Where are you in CO, I used to live around Longmont
