"I want to break free"
Have you seen these new coke commercial for the new Coke C2? The one with all sorts of people doing all sorts of odd or outrageous things. Acting like real individuals? Riding miniature motorbikes in the office, and dancing around. And the music plays: "I want to break free, I want to break free, Oh how I want to break freeeeeeee!" All of these idiots are dancing around and acting real cool and such. It's about expressing their "individuality" by doing all of these weird and odd behaviors. And of course, drinking coke C2 which is a mass produced corporate addictive caffeine drink. And one that is trying to capitalize on the latest craze: LOW CARBS. How stupid they all look dancing around with coke cans attached to their faces and acting such "individuals". All the while being idiotic corporate puppets. Seems that we live in such a ticky tacky politically correct country these days. Where most everyone is drone of some kind. All of the political correctness and regimentation has made peoples deepest desire to be individuals. And that is the last thing that most people are. So the Coca Cola corporation has the answer. If you want to "break free" and be an individual, you can all (ALL?) drink coke C2. Nothing makes you more of an individual than doing what everybody else is doing. This commercial bugs me, it makes me want to smash all of their smug, stupid faces, does it bug you? Zen "This is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine" |

Hey, come to think of it...I could use some Break Free too. Gotta clean up one of my pistols...
That's just about the most brilliant ad scheme I've ever seen: corporations combatting corp-hate by showing young, pretty people being free individuals, doing their own thing and enjoying the product.

This commercial bugs me, it makes me want to smash all of their smug, stupid faces, does it bug you?
Naw |
That commercial bugs me too. Every time I see it, I think that if THAT'S how C2 makes people act, I'll be avoiding it.
Sounds like it's time to take the non-conformist oath.
Repeat after me. 1. I promise to be different. 2. I promise to be unique. 3. I promise not to repeat things other people say. |
I think you're reading just a bit to much into this there pal.
This I can get behind.
Uh, are you sure about this......... Settle down.......I get it........sarcasm.
No, and you're scaring me. It's just TV dude, take it for what it's worth. Better yet just put your TV to the curb next trash day...... |

Nope, I spent a fortune on ballroom dancing lessons, so I can appreciate their contortions. |
BWAHAHAHA!
Sounds like you need a Dr. Pepper.
Now where is my Coke and let me dig out that old Queen album. |
Hope that works. |
C2 is better than Pepsi Zero or whatever. End of story. Actually, Coke Classic is better than regular Pepsi too. |
C2 sucks. It tastes horrible. How bout instead of cutting carbs you actually go out and do something? Diet drinks as a whole taste awful.
Bunny!...you are such a liar! |

+1 I haven't had the TV on since the VP debate...and that was the only thing I watched. I may have turned on SNL for about 5 monutes last Saturday...but no more than 5. Yeah, screw TV. |

The above is just poetic. "Advertising may be described as the science of arresting the human intelligence long enough to get money from it." |

Come one man...you're a child of the 70's aren't you?
Remember Coke's old Gingle?? I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing I'd like to build the world a home and furnish it with love. Grow apple trees and honey bees and snow white turtle dove. I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. I'd like to hold it in my arms and keep it company. I'd like to see the world for once all standing hand in hand. And hear them echo through hills for peace throughout the land. That's the song that I hear. Let the world sing today. A song of peace that echos on And never goes away. Sgatr15 |

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Now I can't get that satan song out of my head!!!!!!! Zen "This is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine" |
Dude, you dont need to type it out anymore, see now that you have it as your signature, it automatically shows up under every one of your posts. |
C2 sucks Diet coke is better.
Most Coke ads make me not want to buy Coke. I stopped buying sprite after those dumbass commericals they air now started, and emailed them about it too. |
Thank you MisterFloppy, I have fixed that little problem. Zen "This is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine" |

Holy crap, you made a funny. I am seriously laughing my ass off here. |
And the funniest thing of all? It's no joke. Zen "This is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine" |

You are all individuals! [unison]We are all individuals[/unison] |
If I'm not mistaken, that was the title of a
song by Queen sung by Freddie Mercury who was lamenting about trying to come out of the closet. Yea he was queer. I drink Pepsi. |
Oh yeah?! I was an individual before everyone else became individuals so that makes me even more of an individual than any other individual. Ya know, after saying that sentence that word loses all meaning to me. I'm going to bed before it gets worse. |
The best thing that cans of C2 are good for is shooting them unopened with hollow points (or nastier).
Queen was gay? |
Yup... Freddie Mercury was a flaming homosexual. He died of AIDS. |
Well then, it's actually kind of sad. |

I don't like the commercial simply because I don't care for classic QUEEN tunes used to pimp soda.
(and no the song is not about coming out. How freaking OUT do you need to be wearing a feather boa in a band called QUEEN? It's just a good song.) |
i hated that song i would have liked to buy whoever did that song a black eye |
