No, in normal reality you can not.

Ok, we know technically you can own a gun in Japan, England, Australia, Russia.  But in reality the average joe cannot.  So don't get your panties in wad when we point this out.

If you can't as an average person go to a gunshop and after a not very long waiting period and without anyones permission take home a gun that is not taxed or have fees attached that are a years salary and then shoot that gun somewhere resonable then you really don't have the right to own a firearm.

Even in our most restrictive states a normal person can go a buy a gun.
