I have one with black synthetic furniture. I picked it up for under $200 a few years ago. No complaints. It is comparable in quality to either of the other two shotguns you mentioned.

I like my camp defender better than the 590 I used to own, Rifle sights and choke tubes and you can add a mag extension !

I borrowed Plateshooters once and kicked some serious ass with it in a CQB shotgun match. Works for me. |

I second rebuild's comments. Fastest pump I ever shot too - it virtually performs the unlocking stroke for you, then starts to bounce back.

I too enjoy my 1300. I have had it for almost 10yrs now and it has served me well. I also have used it in a comabt course and it worked flawless. I will also admit it does have a fast action. [shotgun]

I've had my Defender for about ten years as well. It's just one of the plain jane wooden stocked ones but I do have to agree that it's one of the fastest/slickest actions I've ever seen on a pump. A pretty good deal for the money...
