If this is a dupe, my apologies.  Detroit tax preparer is robbed in broad daylight and someone inside returns fire with AR to save the day.

Impossible! You cannot use and AR 15 to defend yourself. The liberals told me so. Oh, and the security guards had a sweet ride. You see the "concealed weapon permit" badge on the side?

How stupid would you have to be to think that a tax preparer would have enough cash on hand to be worth robbing?

If I wanted to rob somebody, I'd rob a used car lot.  It has a greater chance of having large amounts of cash on hand than most any other kind of business.

There are always some people who buy cars with cash.

That security guard needs to work on his high intensity close quarters drills.   He missed.

But I thought that CA police chief said that guns are only offensive weapons.  Seems that he was wrong, dead wrong.

I have a few Liberal friends that will be just beside themselves.  Now their arguments need to change because there were multiple well armed assailants and the use of a superior tool saved lives.

Who robs a tax prep business?  This story will get squashed down into a deep dark corner and made to go away.

Not only an AR but NFA? Hard to see in the vid but looked like an SBR?

I was wondering the same thing. That truck was damn nice for a security guard company truck. I could imagine them having an extra $200 for a tax stamp.

I'm guessing they probably had a significant amount of cash on hand. That's why they had a security guard with a carbine close to hand. That didn't look like H&R block to me, it is being run out of a residential home in a bad neighborhood. I'm guessing they do you taxes and give you cash on the spot in exchange for your refund. Like a "payday loan".

Questions being asked in this thread....

Why would someone rob a tax prep business?

Well Im thinking they are giving loans on their tax returns, with a fee of course. So go get your taxes prepared and walk out with cash in a couple of days after submission of tax forms and some other verification.

One clue for me is they had a security guard there with an AR.. think about it.

Its pretty common in detroit to have your taxes prepared, and then take a loan at high interest for cash from the preparers.  Tax time be FSA christmas.  They get about $4,000 of your dollars a piece in refunds on money they never paid in the first place.  You guys are cool with that right?

That would be the only reason to do it which makes me associate the criminals with those that want to ban them. The security guard did not have the AR-15 in hand which is why he was probably so frantic, but he should of been more prepared since that place dosn't look like it's anywhere near a decent neighborhood.

Yeah practice on a one way static range really prepares you for a two way range with dynamically moving targets.  He never had a legal shot with a high hit probability.  He also closed the distance to guard the door very fast even though he was shot going for his gun in the first place.

I'd hire him for just about any security position.  He did a good job, and did not go full retard and shoot them as they fled.

Medical Marijuana clinics. Way more cash. We find u-haul moving boxes full of cash in those places. so much cash that space to store it all becomes an issue (they dont use banks).

Tested it for SWAT years ago.  The answer is "Depends"

You'd be surprised how little it penetrates if hitting studs or wiring.  Also, penetrates pretty well with little deformation hitting only drywall.

Then again, there were some rounds that hit ONLY drywall and the nose bent and sent if flying way off course.

Bullets.....they don't always do what you think they'll do..   And odds are you'll need more then you think in a real fight.

Or they were identity thieves.

Think about it.  Your tax forms and supporting docs have all your essential info:  name, address, SSN, bank routing account number, investment numbers, etc.

Hmm.  Okay.  Maybe I'm over-assigning credit.
