Generally better than the AK-47, not as good as the AR family, in general.

Some of the better 74s can give pretty decent accuracy, but you are limited by the quality of ammo available in 5.45x39.

An AK in .223 will yield the best performance in terms of accuracy, because of a vastly better selection of ammo.

I was at centerfire on Tuesday and they had about 22 Romanian AK74's left for $329 each, they also had .223 AK's and of course the regular ones (all the same price).

I wanted one badly and even tho my birfday was yesterday....I refrained from buying one of the rifles I have wanted for a long time. I hope they will get more. They had been waiting for these for a year and so they were BAN type rifles (no muzzle brake and no bayonet lug ears).

And here.

I couldn't see myself forking over $1,000 for a Kalishnikov. I would rather buy 3 AKs for $350 and take my buddies out shooting
