the later camaros were all 'affordable' and reasonably fast, more so than anything in their price range.  hopefully these are the same way.

Chevy will do what it has done for years. It will not be pushed to it's potential because Chevy doesn't want the Camaro to compete with the Corvette.

Kinda looks like the child of a Mustang and that Chrysler 2000 or whatever that is.

I think it's pretty good looking...just doesn't look like a Camaro to me.  Well, maybe the hood a bit.

But they will put the LS2 400HP in a Pontiac GTO....if they could get this Camaro to market next year they would sell a hell of a lot of them...but by 2009 it may be too late.

Blunt the nose on the bitch and open up the grill!!!

I think the Dodge Challenger looks better in its current incarnation, but they can put the Camaro out front if they stop trying to jump it 40 years into the future.

That's also why there probably won't be a 2010 GM ANYTHING!  What happened to innovation and creativity?  Oh wait, it went overseas!

Not bad for a concept, but the roofline is a ittle low and those damned pimp wheels are on everything.

For comparison:

Still gotta give em credit for trying to inject a little excitement in to the lineup.

Can think of a few more classics which would do well if brought back with current technology...

It looks like they are doing a retro thing with the old Camaros:

Personally I think there are too many lines in the body panels. They ought to smooth things out a bit. It would look better.

Not everything on the market needs that sharp edge design like Cadillac has.

Make the body look a bit more like the above 69 Camaro, and I might be interested.

I would still rather have a Challenger:

Will there BE a General Motors around to build it in 4 years?

By then the EXISTING Mustang they want to try and compete against will be replaced by something else.

And the Challenger will have been ripping the Mustang a new hole for two years...

Will retro cars even be a fad by then?

Plus, if GM cant finally replace the 1955 vintage small block with a modern design with VVT and variable ignition they wont sell since no one will buy a 15-20mpg car in a world of $2-$2.50 gas prices.

Thats whats killing GM sales NOW.  Their aging V8s give their SUV/Truck fleet (which GM over comitted to) such terrable gas mileage compared to Ford and Chrysler products its costing them a LOT of sales.

I know, but the new Corvettes start out with 450 horse, and the GTO has a 400 hp base engine, so there is hope.

Its fugly.  The Charger is an abomination before God because Chargers were meant to be a 2door, period.  So far, the Challenger and Mustang are my picks, with the Mustang edging out the Challenger.  It really depends on what I can get a 6-speed in.

Not that I would ever be able to afford it, or the fucking insurance.

I live in a small town and the only time I drive my vette is on the weekends, and that's mostly trips to the bigger cities around...so yes, mostly highway driving.
When I tell people that I get about 28 mpg in my car they don't believe me at first, but its true.
I am sure I am not getting that in town or when the pedal is to the floor....but when I am on the freeway going 65 in 6th gear its getting 28 mpg.

If I know GM it will be front drive four banger with optional turbo next year. And those big meats will be 13" with 14" option.
They will screw it up like everything else they design.
