www.whoradio.com/audio/ssb.wma In my yearly 4th of July tradition and for those that have not heard it, here it is the National Anthem as you have never heard before. I posted it early since I will be gone. Everyone should play it at their parties, gatherings and perhaps get it played at local sporting events? As far as the accuracy of the history that has been debated on here before, but still a powerfull piece!! It is in WMA format and a 1.7Mb download. If you follow the link back it is available in MP3 and alternative format. Perhaps a mod could tack it for awhile for all to see? Thanks IAJack

I too have listened to it! It truly creates tears!!! DAMN those that would willingly give it all away so easily. Lets just make sure THEY are at the front of the line when the time comes.

OH gees. Well in the name of getting it right this story is a farce. Since so many things a lies now days I checked the story out. Key was on the British ship to negotiate for a = 1 prisoner, a Doctor I believe his last name was Beane, who had been taken prisoner by the Brits. Key did hear the plans for the attack and was held on the Brit ship for awhile was released to his own during the attack. He just had to stay behind the Brits and not interfere with things, understandable since he was completely unarmed. Yes he did watch the whole thing and yes he did write the Star Spangled Banner while own his own boat. Now for the other half of the story. Yes the people in the Fort were hard as nails and yes many died but I doubt any could have held up the flag. The General who commanded the fort (forgot his name) knew when ahead of time that the attack was coming and ordered large flag made from the finest material, Approximate size of 35 X 45 FEET. His intent was to show defiance to the Brits and boaster his troops morale/spirit and pride. This post is getting long so do your own search on it and read the stories they are good stories to read very educational. The flag is in the Smithsonian, but they only shine light on it once a day due to its deterioration. Sorry to crap on a good story but truth is needed.
