For those who haven't heard, our hosting company closed its doors without any notice to us.

This left us searching for a temporary host while we worked to find a permanent solution. We're now on this temporary host and working with them to fix the line problems. They came through for us on short notice, so we need to be patient with them.

Things will improve, just be patient...

As of yesterday (2/23) the speed situation has much improved from where I sit. Pretty much like the good old days now.

FYI. The site is really slow since the last change. I'm loggin from 2 different location with DSL and T1 speed. Thought you might want to know.

The traffic usually drops around the weekend, so keep that in mind as to why things were better...

Second line comes in tomorrow (Tues) and should help things improve.

Things seem to have speeded up tremendously, though they still don't seem to match the speed of previously. But at least now I don't have to wait several minutes for pages to come up. I'd estimate that it's within 10 percent of what it used to be, which is a lot better than it was a few days ago. Glad to have the site back up to (nearly total) speed. No pun intended. [:)]

Something is really wrong! This is the SLOWEST site I regularly visit. It used to be fast. I hardly post anymore, and visit much less frequently.

Goatboy,

I love the site, and it is the main forum site I visit regularly (daily) but the ongoing problems and the speed issues have just about worn me down.

I know you guys have worked hard on the site over the years, but the performance issues have been a on and off again thing for what seems like years now.

Maybe we all need to cough up a mebership fee or whatever to keep this site running smooth and fast (which I would do if it would help), but I, for one, just cannot deal with the painfully slow and inconsistent performance of the site for much longer.

We're on temp lines until we get a perm solution (fiber) drawn out. Because of the delays with the phone company we had to scramble, otherwise the site would have been and would continue to be down.

Things seem ok until peak hours in the evening when the traffic is too much for the temp connection.

I am not a bitcher, I work with people to resolve and understand problems, it's more productive.

Your constant attention and genuine concern for the overall quality of Ar15.com makes it the top notch website it is. Keeping members abreast of what needs to be done to correct unforeseen problems is quite adequate to keep us happy, don't worry about it. Thanks tons for the site.

I can't wait to reup!

I again want to apologize for the speed being slow in the evenings, seems we fill the lines to capacity and thus the slowdowns and lost packets/timeouts.

The phone company has started dragging their feet, so we'll see what date they can give us for the fiber install to be completed.

We'll pass this date on to you as soon as we can.

Hmmm, didn't see or overlooked it. At any rate, the site still seems pretty slow, doubly so in the evenings.

Here it is end of March and the speed still sucks. I use to visit once at day at lunch. Now I click and get nothing for up to a minute on my T1 so I move on. Hurry up and get it fixed you've got to be losing a tremendous amount of traffic and revenue generated from it.

Serious BW will be installed sometime in April and things will be better than ever. Just need to be patient a little bit longer.

These deals don't just happen, there's a lot of time involved (45-60 days for installs) and much goes into the decision process. (Signing a long term deal for THIS much cash isn't to be taken lightly!)
