We hit some MAJOR problems, drives dying and a bum mobo... new motherboard+cpu upgrade tomorrow and the photo sharing server should make it's appearance. (For Team Members!)

Once the site proves stable and fast, I will throw up a few new code changes and see how that works. If things are good, then expect to see the user limit removed (it was moved up for now) and expect to see search go public again.

The real test will be during the day, and we'll gain another speed boost when the photo sharing moves to the new server for good. All the old pic links will be invalid and we'll have less strain on the servers and BW.

I can't promise any more downtime this week, but I hope that it's all set now. 4:30am - about 100 users - and speed is solid on all servers.

I'm FINALLY off to bed!!! (Yeah me!)

Looks like the new server shit the bed, and thus why we're not running at peak. I will take care of the situation today and leave us limping along on just this cluster for now.

BTW - The guest count is broked on purpose by me (middle of a fix and said screw it... too much change at once isn't good!) So roughly double it and you got the number. [;)]

Have some testing going on to see how the servers are all responding. This should take about 20-30 mins tops and will cause a little bit of slow down.

Once the photo server is up and migrated to, there will be more available BW for the web server, which is our limiting factor. We're planning on pricing out another T1 in January and deciding what needs to be done to secure it. Hopefully, the rest of the changes will help improve things further.

at home on a 53k connect dialup...slower than mol....well, ultra-slow.

at work on a 24k dialup...time out errors out the ying-yang.

in all, slower than before...and that was the m-w definition of slow.

back to the drawing board.
