Ilikelegs, glad you enjoyed it, brother. Next time, bring more tracers. I think, I have a picture that your tracer hit the target at 300 yds [b]without[/b] aiming. |

Yes, we need much more tracer rounds. I will buy a lot at the next gun show. Hitting the target at 300 yds without aiming was one lucky shot. Its almost a fish story. I try to bump w/ my SKS, but can only get it to fire 3-4 rounds before the bolt slams shut on a round, trapping it so it's pointing straight up. Anybody have a cure?

Ak style weapons are the easiest things to bump in my opinion. Wanna have a blast? Get a 75 round drum, and bump the SOB, oh lordy lord, you get the biggest $hit eating grin afterwards. (Funky smell too). If you want a challenge, try bumping a garand, or an FAL. Takes a lot of practice, and when you get good enough you can actually do it from the shoulder. (kinda helps aiming) Once i was able to bump a glock, but that's because it had a forward grip (mag attached to utility rail) that i could grab onto to pull forward. Without that front handle, i wouldn't have even dared trying it, if you slip you can shoot ur hand off or something. And that'll look real ugly. Please do be careful [8D]

Plus the 20" is a heavy bitch since I put so many accessories on it. |

The bullet was wedged up above the bolt. It was a pain getting it out. This is what happened to mine after I ran at least a hundred rounds through it. I was told that the timing is not consistent and could jam. As you think about it, with the bolt traveling at such a high speed, it has a possibility of breaking a bolt? Maybe. I mention this because my pre ban is worth $1500. The AK is worth $350. So if anything bad were to happen, I'd rather mess up a $350 rifle. I'm no expert, so maybe some of the other guys here can shed some light on the danger. I was warned by RealEric about messing it up, and he is the one who fixed my rifle after it jammed so bad. |

I was "Doin tha Bump" to a Mini 14 and an M1A. It was hard as it was the first and only time I bump fired anything. Was awsome with the M1A. I got 2s and 3s with both.

Hmmm, REALERIC has always been down on doing the 'bump' with AR-15s.

The bolt must be fully retracted (i.e. in battery) for the firing pin to be able to stick out far enough to detonate the firing pin. Pull your bolt/carrier group and check it out. However if you are shooting reloads - an one of the primers is seated high - then all bets are off as the primer can be detonated by the bolt face. |

Wait til you try the " secret modified NAIL bump!" This secret Ninja technique actually allows aiming to an extent. Some of my sick puppy shooting compatriots have NAIL bumped 11-87s (OK, short burst), handguns, and misc. .308s. ARs and AKs are a given.
Call me silly, but after shooting real full auto guns, the bump rapidly loses any appeal. |
