I saw in one of the gun rags they were talking about Wilson Combats Trifecta....Handgun, shotgun and AR-15. It made me think of the weapons that I have chosen for my own personal Combat Trifecta. It has taken a few years and a few different experiments, to choose what I consider to be the best of the best for me.
1. Handgun....1911 .45 Colt Combat Commander.
2. Carbine....Preban Colt Lightweight AR-15 with telescoping stock.
3. Shotgun....Benelli 12 gauge M1 Super 90.
(one of the reasons I went with the Benelli is, now all my "combat" weapons are semi auto)
4. Pocket knife....Emerson Commander

So those are my picks for combat perfection what are yours?

This isn't my list of what's best. It's a list of what I have.

Handgun: Kel-Tec P-32. The ultimate in concealablity. Too bad it doesn't work.

Rifle: A single-shot Oly AR-15 with a 20" barrel. One of these days, I'll buy a new lower for it so that the bolt will no longer hit the magazine.

Shotgun: A bolt-action Stevens (Savage) Model 58 12 gauge. It's the ultimate in reliability. You guys with your complicated pump and semi-auto shotguns can keep them. I just wish the removable magazine help more than two rounds.

Knife: A Spyderco Spydercard. It fits perfectly in my pocket against my money clip unlike thicker knives. I've gotten it through security checks every time I've tried since it's so flat and inconspicuous. It is also, like all Spyderco knives I've seen, deadly sharp.

What could I do better? A Glock or a 1911 for a handgun and a shotgun with a larger magazine or a larger magazine (yeah right) for my Stevens.z

Pistol - Kimber Custom 1911. Runner-up would be Beretta 92FS since it uses the same mags and ammo as the military uses.

Carbine - Pre-ban Colt with A2 upper, 14.5" M4 barrel, 4 position CAR stock and Comp-M on gooseneck mount.

Shotgun - Mossberg 590 with ghost-ring sights.

Knife - Benchmade AFCK

My dream setup, keep in mind that I pack heavy:

Pistol: Glock 17 w/ a few 30 round mags in ruck.
Shotgun: SPAS 12 with extra shells in ruck
Carbine: Bushmaster M17S with Reflex Sight Running 40 round AR mags, extras in ruck.

Rucksack strapped onto some poor clod I can convice to carry it for me in exchange for the cover fire.

My real world setup based on what I actually use the most (and can carry myself):

Pistol: Walther P99 .40SW
Carbine: Bushmaster pre-ban M4 with reflex sight, knights RAS, and Beta C Mag
Shotgun: Remmington 870 stakeout (for close encounters)
