Well to those who missed the shoot up here in God's country, all I can say is that you missed one of the most enjoyable shoots that I've attended along the best group of guys that I've had the pleasure of shooting with.  The weather was absolutely [b]PERFECT!![/b]  The stages were fun, challenging, frustrating if you didn't concentrate, and enjoyed by ALL!

I'm going to bed but I'm sure the other attendees will add to the description in the next few days.

Man that looks like a great range you guys were at. How was the course of fire set up? What did you have to do?

To the members who missed out on this shoot...you missed a great outing. The weather was perfect, the Blue Ridge foliage was ablaze with color and the barrels were smoking. The effort it took to attend was worth it!

The Tactical Carbine Match with five stages, lasted 4 hours. It was set up to duplicate the carbine course of the Blackwater Training Center. A Blackwater graduate assisted as our range officer. The "shoot house" stage was exceptionally fun. Clearing a house using live fire, with a timer and scorekeeper person on your heels, is a big adrenaline rush!

To the fellow ar15.com members in attendance...thanks for the camaraderie, stories, tips and techniques. And thanks for letting me shoot your assortment of guns.

Course of fire:

Engage 5 12.5X18.5 steel targets from approx. 110-140 yards away. 1 hit on each. Any shooting position.

[u][[b]Stage 2:[/b][/u]

Engage 6 IDPA targets from approx. 10-15 yards away.  Double tap in the body and one in the head.  One no-shoot blocking half of a far target (a priest~I shot his ass twice!) Any shooting position.

Engage 6 IDPA targets from approx. 10-20 yards away.  Start at a barrel from 20 yards, double tap 1 target through wall.  Move to wall and engage the remaining targets.  Only one engagement of targets though each hole. One no shoot.

Engage 7 IDPA targets from in and around shoot house.  Double tap each target.  One no-shoot.

Does anyone have a link for more information on the setup inside the house?  I'd like to know more about what's done to make that safe.  The idea of live fire inside a house, where I can't see my backstop, makes my stomach knot-up.z

VERY SAFE shoot house.  I have some photos of the inside I can scan latter this week and I'll try to describe the building in that post as well.
