Today is 12 years without alcohol.
Today is 27 years since my Dad died.
Today is a special day for me.

I chose not to drink.
It's better that I don't.
Life is better for me without alcohol.
I don't like to refer to myself as an "alcoholic".
For whatever reason or title given:

Congratulations! [b]Busmaster007[/b], you the Man!

I lost my Father in 1977, and there's hardly a day that goes by without me thinking about him!

BTW, I'm only 4 years younger than my Father was when he died.

That's a sobering thought!

I never really drank to begin with, but I need to stop smoking. (again)

addiction is the worst thing.

Right on, guys!
I'm still working on the nicotine addiction, regardless of the beginning emphysema prognosis last year. What a weakling!
ETH, I'm 46 and my Dad died at 49...I know what you mean.
I can justify all kinds of things being that I had daughters, not sons; my Dad and little Brother are both dead; I'm almost as old as my Dad was when he died; etc.
Justify, Deny, whatever it takes! [:D]
