Now that the Navoo Temple has been completed and is finally open for tours, I thought that I would point out that Navoo, Illinois is only 1.5 hours north of the BRC site... For any of you that will be attending the BRC, we can also help you secure tickets to tour the temple if you so desire. Also, those of you that are already planning to see the temple, may wish to schedule your visit around the BRC. Please let us know if we can help in any way!

I am sorry. I made the same mistake Ed did. It was not until I read his post that I realized my error. I got tripped up by that silent "m".

Isn't there a link there somewhere about John Browning? Here it is: http://www.lds.org/placestovisit/location/0,10634,1849-1-1-1,00.html While taking a tour of the Johathan Browning Home and Gun Shop, learn about the humble beginnings of the worldwide Browning Arms Corporation. See authentic rifles, handguns, and shotguns from the early 1800s and their current-day counterparts. You will also learn what rifling is and why it is important. Originally from Tennessee, Jonathan Browning became a blacksmith in his youth, later turning his attention to lock- and gunsmithing. He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints near Quincy, Illinois. Jonathan later moved his shop to Nauvoo, the headquarters of the budding Church. After the Prophet Joseph Smith was martyred, persecution of the Saints worsened and Church leaders and members determined to flee west. Although the Brownings were unable to sell their property, they still left their home and shop in Nauvoo to settle in Ogden, Utah. John Moses Browning, a son, learned gunsmithing at his father's workbench and later became famous for his invention of the automatic machine gun. See it could become a pilgrimage for some!!
