Okay, I only saw part of the story, but it was about how the Saudi people viewed the 'war', Bin Laden, and the USA. To sum it up, they said that a good percent of Saudi people thought that Bin Laden was a 'hero'? Now did I hear that right? Also, they come to the US to get educated, but go back to (what we would say backwards) their country where the women have no right to vote (some here would say that's good, no offence indented ladies). They showed one medical student (female) who actually thought that it was better to let the men vote. This is the 21st century. I know not every where the same, but ....... Now, on a closer matter, my local paper had an artical that in Greece(?) there was a peace demonstration. They were chanting (paraphrased) "We don't support Bush, we don't support Bin Laden! WE support peace!" Well, if someone crashed a plane into one of their high rise buildings, I think they would be saying something else. Does anyone else in this world give a damn how the rest of the world goes on aside from us? Is the world turning into a USA bashing club?? Does our caring for what happens around the world get viewed as being a bully tryin to impose our will on others all the time? Or is it because we're the 'last super power' left? Are other countries jelouse of what we have here? We have enough firepower to destroy the world over and over (and still have enough for more). They should be glad we're helpfull and not what the former USSR was. We don't have the perfect system, but it seems really good compared to what's out there. Venting.............Kaliburz feel little better.

Oh man, you have it exactly right. At times, I think I was born 200 years to early. I'd rather be exploring the stars like the early sailors did the world/oceans. Unfortunatly, certain people don't seem to give a damn about spending money on research for space. Look at NASA's budget. We could be 'light years' (sorry for the pun) a head in space, but we got a head a little and well, slowed. The momentum of the 60's and 70's are gone. Maybe w/ the space station..... we might get it back. The public just isn't that interested....... I for one feel like getting off this 'rock' at times.

This reminds me of a movie about 10 years ago with Dudley Moore called "Crazy People" about an ad executive who goes a little nuts and comes up with a bunch of TRUTHFUL advertisements, one of which was for AT&T which went like this: "We're AT&T, and we're tired of taking your crap. Remember, if WE fold, you won't HAVE any damn phones!" To Paraphrase: "We're the USA, and we're tired of taking your crap. Remember, if WE fold, you won't HAVE any damn United Nations!" Whether they resent it or even realize it, the world is dependent upon US for innovation and guidance because they're too busy trying to be "Civilized", where civilization in order to be imposed, must be of the dictatorial type. I'd say let em keep it except I have to live on this planet too. Panz
