This is my platoon's moto video from our Afghanistan deployment that we just got back from, this video isn't our battalion or even our company, this is all just my platoon. We saw a lot over there and this vid doesn't even touch on 1% of our deployment but it's a nice little taste. The videos of the bombs being dropped and the air, cobra's, etc. smoking the Taliban were all called in by us. There's one clip from Fox News in there of us that Ollie North and his camera man shot and gave to us which was pretty cool.

There was a large section where you're shooting from vehicles at the tree line and something is on fire in the distance.

What were you shooting at? How can you even see anything to shoot at? All I see is trees and something on fire.

We can see everything, it's just a shitty camera. The firefight at the tree line with the fire in the distance was the battle for Jugroom Fort, you couldn't see it in the video but in person you could see the silhouettes of taliban running in front of the flames and their bodies being mowed down. About ~50 taliban died in that single firefight.

Great video, and welcome back. BLT 1/6 was training up for the MEU not too long before I left Lejeune-I remember the big news when the MEU flew in theater, as opposed to transiting via ship. I think I recognized a couple of names in the credits at the end.

Just one question for you as I was always curious. Is smoking opium common amongst the locals over there and the regular Afghani soldiers? I remember some documentary saying the Afghnis like to get loaded before they fight by smoking opium. Any thruth to that?
