I'm sorry to see that both Joseph and Maria Dumbfart have both passed away. Maybe they had a dozen sons to carry on the name. During the early college years, I helped in registration. Someone there had a last name Lipshitz. There were others, but this one stuck.

Looks like the word "AUSTRIA" is bottom center on the marker so that would definitly change the pronouciation.

Where to start? The guy right before me in the phone book used to be Dikshit. Worked with a guy that went to high school with Fonda Peters. The Dayton Ohio phone book still lists Gandalf T. Wizard. If I remember correctly there's an insurance agent in Sidney Ohio named Richard Head that will correct you if you call him Richard instead of Dick. I used to have a 5 page list of weird names from old census records......John G. Shit, the McCu** family, Agnes Lickdyke.

I went to school with a girl in the late seventies, her name was Roxanne Hooker. This was the same time the rock band the Police came out with Roxanne. you know the one "roxanne you don't have to put on the red light, those days are over you don't have to sell your body to the night" This poor girl caught hell all during that last two years of high school. I really felt sorry for her.

I used to work next door to a guy named Tom Dick. I told him he needed to get a dog named Harry and take him everywhere with him. Then we could say "here comes Tom Dick and Harry. Apparently he'd heard all of them 'cause he didn't think it was too funny.

Why don't these people with silly names change their name? I know a guy with last name of "Dung". If I were him, I'd run to my local court and change it right away. Johannes
