I guess they will have to Ban Karate now.

Can't have ~~SHEEPLE~~, err, people, defending themselves, now can we?

Six muggers picked the wrong targets — two karate experts.

New Zealander Craig Nordstrand, a fourth-level black belt, and colleague Peter Roche were in Suva, capital city of the Pacific island of Fiji (search), last week for regional championships, reports the New Zealand Herald.

The two of them had just finished dinner and were walking back to their hotel when two men came toward them, asking for money. Four more men stepped out of the shadows.

Nordstrand took on four of the men. Roche handled the other two. The attackers backed off, but then surrounded the two New Zealanders for a second try.

"Do you want karate?" Nordstrand asked.

One man failed to heed the warning and moved in.

"I kicked him straight under the chin and into the throat," Nordstrand told the newspaper.

The struck man and the rest of the gang ran off into the dark streets. Nordstrand and Roche became local heroes for a few days.

Same thing happened sorta to my friends karatae master dude.

2 people tried to mug him, he kicked their arse but he got charged...

Same thing happened to my high school history teacher.
Ex college football player, ex marine.
He was at the atm with his cane! Piece of metal in his leg.
He used the cane to beat down the two would be muggers.
Best part is the bank camera got the whole thing on camera!

After tyhe whole thing was done it being a small town he actually got a copy of the tape to bring to class.
He was one of the last great teachers.
Conservative and very pro 2nd Ammendment.
Best US history class I ever had.

LOL I was at the ATM and counted my money, realized that was dumb...duh, then I remembered, I carry a .45...
I was at a Burger KIng during a seminar, about 10 of us were Black Belts, then there was Danny Inasanto, Paula and Burt Richardson....would have been one funny time... if a slime started stuff

My Gym teacher in high school was a skinny ex marine....some guys got fresh with his wife on the boardwalk....two guys form my Karate School were there, they said before they could help he had the two guys on the wood.

One of the two SEALs in my med school class liked to ride his bike to school though some bad parts of town. He got approached one day and was told to give up his wallet. Needless to say the dude got to class on time and the other guy was a red spot on the ground. Both SEALs had these bags around their waists at all times. I wonder what was in there!
