they aren't really selling anything to consumers... It's more like they are tyring to get people to invest or get other companies to notice them or something...

They are selling energy.  Areva is a worldwide leader in energy - nuclear power and electricity transmission & distribution.

Like the ads for "ADM - Supermarket For The World". Archer Daniels Midland Company is one of the world s largest agricultural processors of soybeans, corn, wheat and cocoa.

or the Conoco/Phillips Ads.

It doesn't matter to the masses but the "captains of industries" watch TV too.  It's not Geico or Burger King that is designed to suck in "the common man".  It is not targeted to us "little people".
