A Newnan GA Gun store "The AR Bunker" had a smash and grab robbery...
A local gun store was robbed early Sunday by three men in a suspected stolen vehicle who grabbed about 30 weapons before fleeing. The suspects are still at large. “We’ve been on the phone all morning long,” said Lee Morris, co-owner and sales manager of The AR Bunker. “It was a disaster area when we got here. “ “We originally didn’t set out to do business today after getting the news but after being here for a few hours, we figured we might as well stay open to try and help make up for the losses.” According to Morris, at 4:51 a.m., three men backed a stolen Honda Accord through the front door of The AR Bunker on Highway 34, snatched about 30 long guns and were in and out in 50 seconds. Store was called the "AR Bunker" I assume some modded AR's? Maybe some rare rifles too...?

Dang, I used to stop in that shop all the time when I commuted to work in Newnan from PTC.

Couldn't happen to a nicer group of people. Extremely overpriced, neckbeard, tactitwat gun store.

Anyone who has a glass front store with high value merchandise should invest in bollards or big concrete planter boxes to prevent smash & grab using stolen vehicles.

30 guns worth $70k, but the story says most were recovered so I don't see how thy lost $70k in inventory. Maybe they have scratches, so wat, sell them as blems.

That happened here a year or so ago. Stolen car, smashed through a wall iirc. Not sure if any arrests were ever made.
|

$70k for 30 long arms, perps must have snatched the .22lr ammo too.
|
|
I am thinking bunker was not a good name for that place.....
|
|
At an average of $2333 per rifle, that's some serious neckbeard pricing.
The scenario seems extremely familiar, though; something within the same timeframe and number of firearms happened a few years ago in Louisville. |
|
The same thing happened to an Ace hardware here a few years ago.
AFTER, the robbery they decided to fortify the door and add bollards. All of the walls were brick, just a glass front door, stolen car was driven thru the front doors. A second car was waiting in the parking lot. |

I went there a couple times, they treated my father well and I did see some good deals. Even went a couple times with "tightwad" friends of mine who purchased things b/c the price was right. The guys also seemed knowledgeable and approachable. It has been over 2 years since I was there but it certainly couldn't have changed that much. Geesh |

WSB story and video
Surveillance video shows the suspects backing a car into AR Bunker at Highway 34 just before 5 a.m. Sunday. It took thieves less than a minute to jump out and grab the semi-automatics in the display case.
Store owner Rusty Morris told Channel 2’s Jade Hernandez the thieves grabbed rifles ranging from under $1,000 to semi-automatic rifles, each about $4,000. View Quote |

Whenever that happens around here the perps and the guns always get traced back to the hood eventually.

There was a shop that got cleaned out. I think it happend more than one. The front is now fortified. I'm not a fan of them. I was quoted $30 for an FFL transfer of 4 lowers. Then they insisted on charging me $30 for each lower. The guy that runs it reminds me of a cocky Ned Flanders. |

Maybe 4 or 5 Daniel defense uppers....3 or 4 BCM uppers..4 or 5 Noveske AR's. That would do it.

Geesh This gunstore tried to sub in a Walther PK380 for a Karh P380 when I was looking to trage a gun back in 2010. I got into an arguement with the lady behind the counter even after I showed her the e-mail exchange between the store and I where we were talking only the Kahr because they were adamant the Walther was the gun we agreed on. And I got several older friends that aren't terribly internet savy that have way overpaid for stuff there last year. So I'll call your feel good story with the experiences I have had. I did not see anything I would consider reasonably priced in there. So it's all realtive isn't it, but what the hell do I know. |

Maybe a few full autos in there? $70k seem like a lot for 30 rifles. Could be some high dollar shotguns or double rifles too.
|
|
Three idiots did it, then got their getaway car stuck and abandoned all but what the three of them could carry and then shed most of that as they ran through the woods to the highway to a waiting ride.

Geesh I had the same experience I was looking for a specific HK pistol and they were the only one in metro ATL in stock. Friendly lady on the phone confirmed and set it aside for me. No fuss no muss. It is not really a bunker. More like a stripmall store front. |

Looks like the center of the store, which is where Barrett 50 cal rifles are displayed a lot of times. Is that what was taken? Note all the AR's on the wall and pistols untouched..

Guess they grabbed what they could, I assume someone or all 3 cased and grabbed the most expensive ones??
Maybe the ATF needed some to run to Mexico Seriously, hope the get the thieving bastards. My guess would be *Hood-rats *Militia type *Obama supporters to "prove" how easy it is to get guns... |

Owner of that store is a Moran, no real protection from a break in as no Bollards outside to stop a car from breaking through the glass, no steel cage storefront reinforcement and guns were not locked up for closing.
Deserves what he gets. |

Bought a trapdoor Springfield from them once they said it was a wall hanger because the smith said someone jb welded the firing pin inside the breech block. Come to find out after I soaked the breech block overnight in PB Blaster it freed up and was simply gunked up with dirt, rust, and old oil prob from the 1800's. |
