Does any company make  a decent .45 auto rifle?    and not a plastic one.

I was looking at my favorite pistols, and for my SAA and remingtons I have corresponding rifles in the same caliber, except for my 1911

so, who makes one?

You could try to find a used Marlin Camp 45.  Uses 1911 mags even

Why did Marlin stop making the Camp 9 and Camp 45?

+1.  While they are not quite my style, they did seem like a good idea for some applications.

Because Marlin is better off making .22s.

Who wants a 9mm rifle?

I think they still make the Camp 9 but I have no idea why they would stop making the Camp 45.

I've been wanting a .45 carbine too. A guy on FalFiles was making kits to adapt a FAL to .45ACP. Rhineland Arms, I think he even posts here once in a while.

I think Oly Arms is the only one making .45 AR's on a production basis. Most are things someone has screwed together themselves because they want a .45 carbine on the AR platform.

I've got a Volunteer arms Commando. Tommy gun style. Uses GG mags.

You've also got the thompson

or a .45 AR

or a M3A1 carbine setup

Unfortunately, the average 1911 mag will not work.  There is a little catch in the magazine well near the bolt.  If you take a close look at the Marlin mag, the top back edge of the mag is a little rounded.  The average 1911 mag is square-cut and will get caught on that little catch.  When it does, it puts a notch in the catch, thereby not allowing any mag to be inserted into the well.  It will then need to be filed down or replaced.
That said, that rifle is fun to shoot.

Beretta Storm is now available in 45 ACP.

Isn't there a company that is turning enfields into .45s. They mod the rifle to accept 1911 mags.

There's an entire forum dedicated to pistol caliber ARs.

Don't liek the storm, plastic, adn has poor ergonomics, at least for me..  I would not mind a thompson, but they are banned up here, and the sentence if I got caught with an unregistered one would be severe (does not matter if they are full or semi auto)  I do not want a .45 AR

I just want a .45 caliber rifle, maybe even a carbine, that is made of steel and wood....   They seem to be few and far between. I ahve never even seen a Marlin in this caliber.  Yet I see ruger rifles in .44 mag, WTF?

The Beretta Storm is decent.  I shot one in .40 at a Ducks Unlimited Outdoors expo last summer.  The Storm was great to shoot but I'd worry that in a draw-down situation the BG might think it was a Supersoaker and just laugh at me.  I know what you are looking for.  I've had the same thought.  The Ruger Police Carbine would be OK in .45.  I don't know why they only make it in 9mm and .40.  A PC in .45 would be a natural.  It couldn't shoot any worse than my Mini-14, LOL.
