Looks like people aren't as stupid as Obama and the libs think we are.

"We will just hire the same person eight times with the Census and count it as eight jobs. That will fluff up the jobs report and everyone will think the economy is better."

Fucking jackasses.

Dipshit is living on borrowed time until the end of summer when all those census worker jobs evaporate.

I think they said out of those jobs created, 411,000 were census.

Yeah that probably is not the job recovery everyone was looking for.

Believe it or not, the Dow is not a good indicator of the economy. It can shoot sky high when layoffs are announced and drop at full employment. It is an indicator of the market, not the economy. And they're not the same thing.

I eagerly await this.  But will they really let that happen or will they just come up with more stuff for them to do to keep them employed?

And the off-shore oil rig jobs.  And the Gulf fishing and tourist industries.  And exporters to Europe as the EU reorganizes between riots.  And state and municipal jobs as local budgets continue to implode.  And adding illegals to the unemployment rolls if amnesty passes.  And Christ only knows how much damage if cap and tax passes.

Green shoots!

ETA: forgot the VAT push, and probably some other minor bumps ahead.

A VERY crucial consideration in the decrease of unemployment is not just the census garbage.  Remember that unemployment is only the number of people LOOKING for jobs that cannot find them.

If people stop looking for jobs and stay unemployed then the unemployment rate still goes down.

There are not more people working, rather fewer people looking for work.

It is really just people betting one way or another on part of the market. It relly isn't the market itself.

True.

But flight of capital out of the markets is not good for the broader economy. People sitting on their investment capitol stifles growth.

The one is just waiting to nationalize the offshore oil industry.  He'll use some argument like "we need the jobs and private industry can't be trusted to do it safely".

how long will the census workers be employed for?  will they all be fired at the same time or let go alittle at a time (not that it matters since the gov cooks the books anywyas) or will they be kept on forever doing nothing?

Almost all of the job growth is .gov jobs, many of them census related.  Expect these jobs to be lost once the temp workers for the census are done.
