I think they said out of those jobs created, 411,000 were census.
Yeah that probably is not the job recovery everyone was looking for. |

Believe it or not, the Dow is not a good indicator of the economy. It can shoot sky high when layoffs are announced and drop at full employment. It is an indicator of the market, not the economy. And they're not the same thing.

A VERY crucial consideration in the decrease of unemployment is not just the census garbage. Remember that unemployment is only the number of people LOOKING for jobs that cannot find them.
If people stop looking for jobs and stay unemployed then the unemployment rate still goes down. There are not more people working, rather fewer people looking for work. |

The biggest thing about the jobs report was they were not in the private sector. all gov't jobs.

how long will the census workers be employed for? will they all be fired at the same time or let go alittle at a time (not that it matters since the gov cooks the books anywyas) or will they be kept on forever doing nothing?

Almost all of the job growth is .gov jobs, many of them census related. Expect these jobs to be lost once the temp workers for the census are done.
