Now that the .17 Super Magnum is out, how would feel about a super mag in 22 caliber?

I am not a fan of the .17 round becase of cost and addition of a caliber, but I would love to see a super mag in .22.

If Smith made a J-frame in such a caliber, I'd buy one in  a second.

Thoughts?

I picture 22 Supermag being in between 22 Mag and 22 Hornet.

It would be rimfire.

Hornet's centerfire. Hard to see how to get Hornet performance from a non-bottlenecked rimfire though.

The Win. .17 super comes close. But it's a .17.

Centerfire... but now that I look, I bet you could fit a nice rimfire 22 supermag between it and the 17 supermag.

Yeah...  It wouldn't match Hornet, but it would exceed 22 magnum.

I was thinking between 22 magnum and 22 hornet.

I would really consider it as a pocket carry, back up gun in a J-frame.

The Smith & Wesson rimfire j-frames are lighter than the .38's buy a couple of ounces..  I think the 22 magnum tips the scales at like 11.5 ounces.

So we end up w/ a rimfire 5.7x28mm?  Would be cheaper.

I always thougt that a 32hr mag revolver would make a good light weight yet powerful personal defense weapon or trail gun.  iirc 32hr mag has performance equal to 38spcl but without losing a round in the cylinder in the super compact frame revolvers.

I'd want a 22 Super Magnum that could fire standard 22 Magnum.

It would be fucking awesome if it could laod and fire 22lr.

I was watching a guy on youtube tonight , firing 32 S&W long, 32 H&R mag, .327 Feder mag, and 32acp through a Ruger SP-101 revolver.
