I do. But my 9mm reloads are almost always 147 for subsonic. I mostly reload the expensive stuff, 10mm, 300blk, rifle loads.

Fiocchi always goes bang in any caliber I've shot it from, but the accuracy is not on par in my experience with that brand.

20 minutes cranking the handle on the 650 yielded this:

200 rounds of 9 mili

EDIT: yeah, back in 2006 or 2007 the WWB value packs of 100 rounds of 9mm were right around $11 .

Mine don't have pretty purple stripes.

I remember buying that stuff for $7.50/box. Of course, I also remember ~$7.70 boxes of 40rnd WWB 223, and ~$8 boxes of Federal 550 22lr.

I've always avoided Fiocchi ammo. About ten years ago a guy that knows a lot about guns and ammo commented,
"they say it's noncorrosive, but it is". I don't know the validity of that statement, but the guy was right about everything else.

How much do you plan on reloading?

A used single stage press + all the other needed stuff ~$3-400ish

Progressive press setups $400-1,200 easy.

That's what I can't seem to figure out. I know I'd shoot more, but it's a cost/benefit balance I have to figure out, first. I'm sure it'll make a lot of sense to reload if I'm hitting the range every week. Lately, I've spent enough time hunting for a decent deal on ammo that I shoot less often than I used to.

I doubt i'm alone.

Actually, that's not too bad to start. Now to do the research and see what brands to get. Then to set it up in the restroom next to the ashtray.

I saw a can of 900 (steel) at Academy. A brown can from Russia. I forgot the price, but might have been 130 or so.

The real "savings" show if your a range bunny or load rifle rounds. 9mm is not the most cost saving one to reload but it can be done for cheaper and higher quality than what's on the store shelf.

Nifty cost per round calculator:

http://www.reloaderhub.com/calculator.cfm

Most start with a single stage setup. They are simple and you don't have much invested should you decide its not your thing.

Rifle rounds are THE main reason I would reload. Pistol would just be a nice add-on. Shooting more doesn't sound like much of a chore if I"m saving overall.

In the Triad area of NC a 100 round box of Federal 9mm is $25.77 at Walmart. WWB is a few dollars more for a 100 round box.

Feb 9, 2009 WWB 100 count from Walmart in Central Ohio was $13.49. So, yeah, it's been awhile since it was $11 a box.

Edited to add location.

Just as a quality control indicator. I think I only have two of those 100 round flip top ammo boxes (I have more of the 50 rounders). So what I am checking for is that all the headstamps are all the same height, that no 9mm Makarov, or 9X23's snuck in there. And I also check for high primers by running the tip of my index finger across them.

Then I run that stripe across them. That was a blue sharpie. I actually prefer a red Marks-A-Lot laundry marker. The red shows up better when the brass lands in the grass.

I had made another brass striper that was just a couple of holes drilled into the edge of a 2X4. It put an ink "ring" around the brass. If I can make it to a real computer tonight, I think I have pics of it uploaded to my other photobucket.

I based it off the hosercam.com version:
Click this, then click on "shooting productd"

My local Academy is more expensive on ammo than my Walmart. But then again Academy's shelves are full and the Walmart it not.......

168 grain gmm is about a buck fifty/round. I reload it for around 55 cents, and get more consistent ammo, especially when I neck size only.
