I believe he thinks its Feb of this year. I saw worse back then. I sold a PSL for 1600.

I wouldn't give 100 for one of those pieces of shit.  You would think it impossible for an AK to have fetal alcohol until you actually handle one.

ONLY 7 MINUTES TO GO BETTER HURRY UP AND BID BEFORE SOMEBODY ELSE GETS THAT RIFLE. I THINK THEY ONLY MADE A FEW WITHOUT BAYONET LUGS.

Had a WASR-10...hated the damn thing. That's a lot coming from the guy that has a creepy love affair with all things Russian in regards to firearms

Many years ago I purchased one of these for 499, it was one of the biggest pieces of crap that I had ever owned. The mag had so much play i had to modify the mag well.

AK prices are still crazy.

$650 for a WASR made with some used parts that look like they've already seen 1000's of rounds, or $1,000 for a new Bulgarian AK with new parts.

I brought this for $299 back in 2000.

Yeah I had one too, in my more youthful days.  The deal breaker was the terrible accuracy\terrible workmanship.  I would take an SKS that got dug out of a burnt up Chinese tank before one of those Romanian retards.

It's insane how expensive AK's are getting. Bottom of the barrel WASR's are pulling in $600-700 from reputable dealers. 10 years ago I bought my first AK for $379 from Atlantic Firearms. Times have changed

I shot my first ever AK about 3 years ago. It was a buddy of mine. Smooth as butter, loved the way it felt and shot plus the 7.62 cartridge was nice. Said I may have to get me one of these. Went to Cabela's that day to buy ammo. BAM!! Walked out with a WASR, no ammo and a VERY huffy spousal unit
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 4:52:48 AM EDT
There's no way I'd cough up $1100 for one, but I do love my WASR.  It's the lowest common denominator that still produces a gun that is reliable and shoots pretty close to where it's pointed.

It's the ultimate expression of the Kalashnikov design.

Owned one for about a year.  Casual to terrible accuracy.  Mags wobble in the magwell due to shitty conversion from single stack.  Sights installed crooked.  Handguards and stock made me sad.  The mag catch itself wasn't even installed right and had to be re pinned.

Left a bad taste in my mouth for Century and for WASR' 10's.  Century's mauser imports are good to build on tho

Awww, did you buy a WASR in the last panic?  It's ok, they hold their value really well.

Mine is a good rifle, you have to realize, ' it is what it is' a rifle for dummies, it is not as accurate as an AR, but runs and runs... it does it's job.

No, its probably because you are tarded. The WASR has a good rep in the AK world as being a solid, reliable gun. Can you explain exactly what makes it  shit with FAS?

Definitely not.  If someone offered me $1100 for mine, I'd sell it without thinking twice.

My WASR is a gem, paid $275 for it about 8 years ago. About 8k rounds later and not a single jam, misfeed or screwup. It likes to go to Knob Creek and blast.

For $1000, it better be an Arsenal

I did buy a NIB converted Saiga for $800 this year and it is very nice.  I'd put it on par with the Arsenal SGL series

They were known for being a surprisingly solid rifle at a very low price, but they were always bottom of the barrel AKs.  The first batches Century modded had wicked trigger slap.  All batches had high numbers of canted sights all the way from Cugir and a crappier finish than they put on any other rifles.  All batches modded by Century to accept doublestacks had great variance in the size of the opening leading to mag fit issues.

If you weeded out the duds you could get a good one and I did, but they were still bottom of the barrel.  I got mine for under $250 "just cuz" and wound up really liking it, but I wouldn't buy one without handling it first.

my WASR came with a canted FS... paid 350 for it.....gave it a hell of a whack with a BFH.   Hits where I aim it now.  Mags wobble, never a FTF.  Trigger is buttery smooth.

Has a Chromed bolt and new wood now.

Like asking a liberal to use facts
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 6:18:41 AM EDT
I never got around to buying an AK. After owning a couple of SKS rifles (a Russian and Yugo) for a few years, I went straight to the AR and haven't looked back. Well, sometimes I think about the life I could have had if I had kept both of the SKS rifles. I never once thought about missing life inside a garbage can.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 6:21:00 AM EDT
I ignore the AK hate. To each their own.

Cheap AK days are over...hell, even an Arsenal isn't worth $1000.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 6:21:19 AM EDT
I got forewarned about my WASR. I had the gun store clerk put a magazine in to check for wobble and I made sure the front sight wasn't wacky when I bought it. It's fun to shoot and the spam cans of tula are easier on my budget than feeding the AR.

I paid $609 for a "used" Norinco underfolder at a hole-in-the-wall shop in rural PA last week...

Ran a patch through the barrel and bolt, not a single stain of fouling.
