I spent part of last week in the Outer Banks (damn, I hate those damn OBX stickers, but I love the area), and drank too much of this wonderful lager beer known as Yuengling.  That stuff is just delicious.  I want more, but can't find it in Ohio.

Any other fans?

It's brewed in PA.  Availiable just about everywhere in PA and East Coast tourist trap areas, but not very many other places

That's the only beer I find drinkable. Then again I'm not a beer drinker.

America's Oldest Brewery. They are in Pottsville, PA. A dump of a coal-mining town (even dumpier than the one I grew up in just a few miles away).

Not bad, my favorite cheap beer. There's better out there though.

It's awesome.  Suprised it isn't out in Ohio though.  I have gotten it in Florida so I know it is out there other than the tri-state area.

Oh also try Lord Chesterfield, it's made by Yuengling too.

I saw a rockabilly band last night from Kentuky who said that they love playing here so that they can bring back trunkfulls of Yuengling!

Woot! Hooray for Chinese beer! (I know it's not Chinese, I'm from NEPA originally and love it)

I like the Yuengling Black and Tans - this thread reminds me that I am out of beer.

If I had a digital camera, I would take a picture of the inside of my refrigerator, complete with a fresh case of Yuengling.  I alternate between Yuengling Premium, Yuengling Lager, and St. Pauli Girl.  Just got a case of the Premium last weekend.  Yuengling and Middleswarth BBQ potato chips are two staples of any central PA diet.

Get a squad together and make a few raids into PA. That will teach em to not sell to Ohio.

I just drove thru Pottsville yesterday on my way to St. Clair to go dirtbike riding.

Yuengling is in every bar and every beer distributor in PA.

My wife's and also my favorite.  Of course I'm not real picky about beer but she is.  Have several cases stocked in my beerbackup frige now.

I was just working in Toledo and a few of the corporate guys from Denver were paying me to go home and buy Yuengling so I could bring it back to them.  They love this stuff too.

My favorites, Traditional Lager and Black and Tan.  Yuengling

I can get get Yuengling right here in Wilmington, North Carolina, and you can't get it in Ohio? That's just wrong! Of course this is an "East Coast tourist trap" area, so that may be why.

According to the Yuengling website, they have no distributors in Ohio.

As far as American beer goes it's all I can stand.

This weekend I did find that poolschlager (Goldschlager + a dozen drunk people in a pool, and I'm sure some chlorinated water was mixed in) is VERY refreshing.

They bought the Strohs brewery in Tampa and now brew it in Florida, too.

Yuengling sells so well that they are having a hard time keeping up with distribution in the states that they already have. The keep e-mailing me that it's coming to Georgia, but it is not here yet.

I went out last weekend with some friends from work, and the restaurant's menu said they had Yuengling.  I wasn't even going to have any beer, but when I saw that I said hell yeah!  I ordered a Yuengling, and was extremely disappointed a minute later when she told me they were OUT OF STOCK!

Its part of their punishment for being in Ohio. My VFD friends from back home would occasionally do case runs, throw as many cases of Yuengling as possible in the back of a station wagon, cover with a blanket so the cops didnt see it, and then deliver the beer to their friends in Ohio who were dying for some of that sweet, sweet lager.

Never knew they didn't sell it in Ohio (an adjoining state).  I got some Yuengling from a gas station in Tampa so I thought it was everywhere.

+1

I have been searching all over this damned place, to no avail.

OH summed up

buy beer in grocery stores and gas stations  +1
no Yingding -2
no car inspection +.5

so it's almost a wash, if I can find a place to hunt, then the scales will tip.

When visiting VA I picked up a 12 pack never hearing the name before.  Then at the wedding they had 2 kegs of Yuengling.

Back here I wanted more and have now found out its only on the East Coast.

I love that stuff. Drank it for the first time about 4 yrs ago at my bro inlaws house in PA, but they didnt sell it around here. Then they started selling it in MD so it was roadtrip time a couple times a month. About 6 months ago they started selling it in Berkeley Co WV. It seems in WV in order to sell beer in our state, the brewer has to pay 2k in every CO they want to sell it in

I swear as soon as they figure out how to tax pie in WV they are going to.

I live in Columbus OH and our Corporate HQ is in Philly. Every year we have our annual sales meetings there... I don't usually drink much around here but I ALWAYS drink mass quantities  when I'm in Philly. I've looked locally too and I can't find it here either.

Funny,
I was at a bar in Germantown, Oh, the waitress asked if I'd like a beer and I said "yeah Yuengling".

Her reply:  "We don't carry foreign beers".

I couldn't help but laugh....

And Tampa, Fla.

I grew up not too far from the original brewery, moved away and 5 years later they bought a brewery here.

It's good, but not *all that*, to me.  Plus, they've flooded the market with it here in B'ham.  The streets are awash in the stuff.

For it's price point, yeah, pretty good.  But it's Pabst in a bottle for this guy.

Yep.  I remember while I was in College Park, all of the liquor stores had on their marquee's "Yuengling is here!"  I didn't understand what the BFD was since I grew up around it.  It's OK, but nothing to write home about.  As for "local" brews, I find Dominion Lager to be much better.

It aint right when you can get a 24 pack at Walmart in the south yet your neighbor is high and dry.
