My wife grew up extremely poor. I grew up extremely unpoor. She enjoys running, making scrap books and really unexpensive stuff like that. I blow money like there is no tomorrow on sometimes some pretty insignificant stuff. It makes her physically ill to watch me spend money or when I tell her how much something cost, though not so much now as it used to.
She goes to the Gap and gets excited over $5 shirts and I shop at Foleys and wear $300 sunglasses. She never says anything about my spending. I make enough that she doesn't work, so she gets to stay home and do stuff she enjoys, like mowing the yard.[:)] I've pretty much got it made. |

My wife reads romance books.
Here in the den there is 5 book shelves chucked full of paperback and hard cover books. Down in the basement there are (be back in a minute) 14, 16"x12"x10" boxes full (I just counted). And she knows what books are in each box. If her sister wants to borrow a book, my wife can go and get it in just a few minutes. |

My wife likes to spend money on various functions for the kids. The only interest in any type of hobby was that she took up piano lessons with the kids. We bought a real nice grand piano for the three of them to practice on. Basically if I let her get what she wants for the kids I can get whatever I want within our budget.

My wife spends her money on clothes, shoes and accesories. Still doesn't add up to my purchases, but I always tell her I can sell the guns for 90% of what I bought them for. The expended ammo is another story.

Actually, we're both into shooting. She has a Browning HP and, just recently, bought a Kimber Stainless II. She burns up about 1200 rounds a month.

My wife has a *huge* Longaberger basket collection. When I say huge, I mean she has them packed away in big plastic containers in the barn besides the ones in the house. I have no idea what she paid for them and don't really care. She works, she can play. |

Most things we do we do as a family so we don't really have individual hobbies so to say. We all enjoy kyaking, canoeing and cliff jumping. We all enjoy target shooting. My wife does alot of bead work making the little warbonnets with beads and feathers and the boys even got into soon as they saw you can make money doing it. But by far my wifes biggest hobby besides me and the boys is genealogy and that takes more time than money usually. But my thoughts are that we both work and we both agree that bills, food and kids come first and then whatever we want to do is fair game. As long as we had the bills paid and food on the table and the kids got to do the things they want like having fun, going to movies, renting a video or video game every now and then she could spend a $1,000 a month on genealogy and it wouldnt phase me. But by far my wife is the better thrifty saving one than I am because I like to spoil all of us too much but hey you only live once.

For my wife it is jewelry, clothes and shoes. Spends way more than I spend on guns. She also makes a lot more though. For me, I don't spend money on drinking and my clothes come from costco ($13 awesome jeans), Target, and Mervyns. I have no guilt about what I spend on guns. Wife is pretty OK with it too, as long as I'm OK with the jewelry. [;)]

I have to beg my wife to spend money.
She likes to keep taking college courses, really pretty cheap in the long run. I guess the text books can run a couple of bucks. We always keep them. |

Discovery Toys Bout $2000 a year or so.... I have to force her to spend money on herself sometimes. She stays home with our daughter. Finally let me buy her a gun instead of just using mine all the time. |

Umm, are $300 sunglasses really that good?
Are those $500 outfits that great? Are those $400 shoes that nice? Is that $25,000 necklace that valuable? As a matter of fact: Is a Porsche worth $80,000? I say no to all of the above... I hate those NYC snob bitches with their assugly Mahnolo Blahnik cr@p shoes that cost hundreds. Go to hell all you damn toothpick thin ugly weirdos with your ugly clothes... you ugly ass hair and makeup makes me want to throw up in your ugly Botoxed faces. God I hate those horrible, insecure, wasteful, liberal scumbags..... I hope a nice friendly person form Texas hits them over the head with a two by four. |

My wife builds and races offroad Volkswagons, the engine in her latest toy cost as much as an AR 50. The only good thing is she gets tired of them and sells them for a profit. |

Back when I could work, my hobby was spending money on my wife. Sometimes my younger brother's daughter would get in on the act.
I just like spending it on other people more than I did on myself. Last year I made $132. I spent it all on my wife and mother for Christmas. So if my hobby is making my wife happy and my wife is spending her money being happy, I', doing pretty good. ED |
